To Play Bail.
Quitman's btuinrst men have
come together and raised a fund of
£500.00 for organizing and sup*
porting a baseball team this sum.
mer. We would suggest that the
same thing be done in Bainbribge.
A prominent business man of the
town said to us a few days ago
in discussing the matter; ‘‘By all
means Bainbridge should have a
winning baseball team this sum.
mer, and if we are to have one,
the time is at hand fo- our people
to get to gether on t^e subject
and put the thing on its feet to
start with. '
I will be one among twenty
men to subscribe $25.00 each for
this purpose. 1 understand that
grounds could be prepared nearer
the business part of the town, and
if this is done, we could always
have a good attendance. These
days every progressive town has j
its ball team and I do not think
that Bainbridge should fall behind
the procession.”
The Search Light believes that
with the proper effort a subscrip.
tion of $500.00 could be raised-for
this purpose; and that in addition
a sufficient number of season tick
ets could be sold to guarantee a
good attendance upon the games.
Last season' Bainbridge had a
fairly good team, and if they had
the proper support we believe that
a winning one could be secured
this season.
Romeo and Juliet.
The play presented at the opera ,
house last Friday night by Edou
rd D'Oize and Miss ' Lorrimer
met with general approbation.
The play was well staged Unless
well acted, most of the actors of
today make themselves ridiculous
when they essay Shakespeare,
but this troupe was by no means
to be laughed at.
We again congratulate the man.

Pearson s Magazine.
The April number of Pearson’s
Magazine which has just come to
our desk is filled with entertaining
and instructive matter. In this
number a serial story bv Cyrus
Townsend Brady begins. Mr.
Brady is at home in sea s’eries as
will be attested by those who have
read his "Grip of Honor,” and
other tales. This magazine has
added much to the interest of its
pages by securing this serial.
There is also an interesting article
this month by Harrie Davis on
the Crusade that District Attorney
Jerome is making on corruption in
New York. Several short stories
make it all in all a most readable
number.
