To the Superior Court of said county:
The petition of I. L. Staten, VV. M.
Huggins, W. K. Barcus, W. A. Shaw, d.
D. MeCutchen, W. L. Bolcen, J. CL
Griffin, J. N. Burdges, Alexander Bum
doe and E. J. Birdsong, all of said state
respectfully showeth:
tiret. That, they desire for them
selves, tbeir associates and successors to
beoome incorporated under the name
and style of the “Independent Order of
the Peoples’ Aiding Society.”
Second. That the term forwhioh the
petitioners ask to be incorporated is
twenty years, with the privilege of re
newal at the end of that time.
Third. The sole object and purpose of
the proposed association is to promote
the cause of Christian religion, and to
aid fallen humanity: and petitioners to
thiB end ask the right ana privilege of
establishing churches and suoh other in
stitutions as will further the objects of
said association, that for the purpose of
raising funds for the erection of suoh in
stitutions as will further the cause and
purposes of this association, and also for
the purpoee of caring for the poor and
destitute members of said association
and for aU persons who are objects of
charity, they desire to be incorparated
with the following oorps of officers to wit:

spective offices until such time as said
association shall see fit to elect new offi
cers.
Fourth. That the main office of said
association is to be at Bain bridge, Geor
gia, in the county of Decatur, out peti
tioners abk the privilege of establishing
as many offices as may be necessity for
the promotion of the cause of said asso
ciation. whose object is the upbuilding
of humanity and the protection of its
members and all who are destitute, and
to-these ends petitioners ask the privi
lege of erecting churches, schools and
orders not in conflict with the laws
of this Stnte and of the United States,
Wherefore petitioners pray for them
selves and their legal successors to be
made a body corporate and politic, With
all the rights, privileges, immunities and
restrictions fixed by law.

to become-incorporated as a fraternal
and beneficiary order, under the name
and style of "KNIGHTS OF SAINT
JOHN.”
Second. The term of which the peti
Boners ask to be incorporated is Twenty
years, with the privilege of .renewal at
the end of that time.
Third. The capital stook of said cor
poration is to be One Hundred Dollars
which is all paid in; petitioners ask how

capital stock to the amount of One
Thousand Dollars.
Fourth. The purpose of the propos
ed corporation U to aid needy and des
titute members of the order, and their
families, whenever tuch members are
worthy of help; to promote the cause of
education, by establishing schools and

tablished; to raise funds for the purpose
above mentioned, and to do any and all

not in conflict with the law, they deeire
to be incorporated with the following

Fifth. Said corporation is to be gov
erned and controlled by a constitution
and by-laws, not to in any wise conflict
with the laws of this State, nor of the
Unite! Statee.
Sixth. The principal office of said
corporation is to be located in the city
of Bainbridge, but with the privilege of
moving to any other place.
Seventh. Petitioners pray the right
to establish subordinate lodges anywhere
in this State, or in any state in ttys
United States; said subordinate lodges
to be governed and controlled by the
Grand lodge established here.

an undivided one-half interest in three
acres of land, more of Use. off the south
side of lot of land number two hundred
and four in the fifteenth aistsict of De
oatur county, Georgia, bounded on the
north by the right-of-way of the S. F.
Sc W. Railroad Company, on the south
by public road from Bainbridge to
Thomasyille, cn the west by property of
peter Gary, and running to a point at
the east end of said land where the dirt
road crosses the railroad. Also an undi
vided one-half interest in forty-one and
two-thirds acres of land in the northeast
corner of lot number fifty-eight in the
sixteenth dietriot of said oounty, Also
nn undivided One-half interest in a cer
tain triangular shaped three acre tract of
land in the oity of Bainbridge, Ga., on
tbe south side of the S. F. Sc W. railway
company’s right-of-way, bounded on
tbe north by ea.d railway, on the south

road, and on the west by Independent
street. Also tbe entire interest in and
to forty-five acreB of land, more or less,
