attended the picnic at the Iron
Bridge last Saturday.
Mrs. Boynton is preparing to
spend a month of the summer in At
lanta visiting relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Parrott at
tended preaching at White’s Bridge 1
last Sunday, as did others from this
place.
The series of meetings at the

looking forward with keen antici
pation to next Saturday which will
be the occasion ot their annual pic
nic.
Mrs. S. J. Warren has been at
tending the commencement exercises
at Andrew Female College where
the Misses Warreu have been in
sohool.
Misses Delia and Minnie Warren
and Willie McCulley have returned
from Cutbbert. Ga., where they have
been attending college for the paBt
two years.
The Stuart Lumber Company have
been extending their waterworks to
several now places in town. About
one-half our population now enjoy
fresh artesian water delivered at
their bouses.
The H. of P. lodge will give an
ioe oream supper near the Baptist
ohuroh the night of the 17th inst, to
wbioh all are invited. The proceeds
will be turned into tde paymont of
the balance due on enclosing the
oemetery here.

here last week.
Mrs. S. M. Brown has returned
borne from Colquitt.
Bro. Johnson filled his regular
appointment here fourth Saturday
and Sunday.
Our Sabbath Sohool here is doing
well as the people seem to be tak
ing much interest in it.
Mrs. W. J, Keene, of Boykin,
accompanied by Miss Lucy Hinson
attended our exhibition.
Mr. W. M. Detwildor and Reuben
Williams are doing nicely in the
mercantile business here.
Since our last writing Mr Tom
Sellers has moved his interesting
family to this place. We welcome
them to our midst.
Mrs. J. C. Kenney has returned
from a pleasant trip to Mayo, Fla
Her many friends are glad to see
her home again.
We have some splendid teaohers
of our Sunday sohool classes,
consisting of Prof. Green, Messdames
Jesse Franklin and W. M. Detwilei.
Quite a orowd of young people
enjoyed Sunday evening very pleas
aatly at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
M. V. Franklin. At this home
guests are always given a hearty
welcome.
Bro. Miller, of Arlington will dedi
cate the Baptist churoh here on the
2nd Sunday in July and protracted
meeting will begin. Everybody is
cordially invited to attend.
Our sohool closed here on the 23
with an exhibition which was well
attended and must say it was good.
The ohildreo did well in their exer
cises and the people seemed to enjoy
it very muoh, nothing happening to
mar the pleasure of any one. The
K is are well pleased with Prof.
e. He was given this sohool
for another year.
Dr. Hunter and Mr. Dick English,
were over from Colquitt Sunday.
Miss Etta.- Bell-return eJl. from a
pleasant visit to Cairo Wednesday.
Mr. I.-A. Allen went over to Bain
bridge one day last week on busi-
ness.
Mr. C. P. Mills, of Tbomaaville,
spent Saturday and Sunday with his
parents.
Messrs. J. W. Napier and J. E.
Royal went over to Bainbndge
Monday.
Dr. S. T. Career, left Saturday for
Sellers, Ala., for a few jjays visit to

a pleasant trip tn Tampa, Fla.

ion is off on a month’s leave of ab
sence.

after being indisposed for the last

turned Saturday from a visit to their
daughter, Mrs. S. F. Freeman, at
Live Oak, Fla.
Mrs. T. S. Knight left Saturday
for Pelham, Ga., where she will
make her future home with her son,
Mr. Robert Taylor.
Mrs. Melissa Donalson who has
been yislting her brother, Mr. W.
E. Powell, returned Sunday to her
home in Bainbridge.

been attending the institute,

keeping of Stanley’s Business Col
lege, Thomasville, oame over Satur
day for a few days visit to his many
friends and will leave for his home
in McRae, Ga., Thursday.
