The Search-Light.
The Atlanta Journal says:
“Last week’s issue of the Bain-
bridge Search-Light contained up
wards of 130 local and country
items. This is not a bad showing
tor any paper. ”
We feel flattered by this state
ment from such good authority.
There are several good and suffi
cient reasons why this paper can
and does make a creditable show
ing each vreek, aside from its
capable and hard working staff of
laborers. '
It is located in Decatur county,
the biggest and best county in the
state, of which it has the honor to
to be the official gazette.
It is located in the city of Bain-
bridge, the most progressive, en-
enterprising, rapid growing and
substantial town of twice its size
in Georgia.
It has more good solid ’.owns to
draw information and support
from, such as Brinson, Iron City,
Donalsonville, Jakin, Climax, Cal
vary, Whigham, Cairo, Fowltown,
Faceville, Attapulgus, Recovery,
Eldorendo, Babcock, Boykin, and
others.
It has a large circulation among
the farmers of this county, who
are more independent and intelli
gent than those of any county in
the state.
It has a wide-awake advertis
ing patronage who appreciate
these facts and are taking
advantagejoi the opportunity of
fered and are getting value re
ceived.
The Search-Light has the good
will, the encouragement and the
patronage of the whole people, for
which it is grateful, and from
which.it draws it inspiration and
is seeking to make each issue bet
ter than its predecessor.

W. & A. to the Sea.
The state’s railroad, the West
ern and Atlantic is in danger of
being bottled up. There has been
introduced at the present session
of the legislature a bill to extend
it to the sea, probably to Bruns
wick, and thus give it an outlet.
It is proposed that the w >rk of
extension should be done by the
state convicts, and hence at little
expense to the state.
It is a pretty big undertaking
for the state and slight inclination
has been evinced in that direction
as yet. The passage of the bill
will in all probability be opposed.
