was shot and instantly killed by D.
W. Sasser during a difficulty between
them. The pistol ball entered Tin
dall’s mouth and severed the spinal
chord causing immediate death.

Major Havens leaves for his h3me
in Indiana id a few days to raise the
balance of tho capital necessary to
put in the lightwood turpentine
plant. Tho company have already
$30,000 aud it will require $20,000
more. We trust that the Major
will bo successful. Tho investment
is certainly a first class one. Dr.
Bilfinger has already ordered the
twenty retorts and oopper work for
this plant. It will be looated west
of Flint river on the G. F. & A.
Hailway, and will occupy nearly
three aores. The main building will
be 150 feet long by 80 wide, with
large wall honee for etorage and
yard room for lightwood.
