CITY OFFICERS RE-ELECTED
For the first time in many
years the entire city force of
police and fire depaatment were
re-elected without any opposition.
The council met Monday night
and re-elected the old officers and
had no applications for the
places. Both of the departments
have been very satisfactory dur
ing the past year. The police
department has been carried on
in a very satisfactory manner,
the clerical end of the office
being in the best shape that it
has been for a long time, the
present chief giving that work
his especial attention. The fact
that there was no one offering
for these places shows that the
service of the men now in the
city employ must be very well
liked by the people generally.
We have had no bad fires duiing
the past year and the city has
been well policed, so well thit
the Mayor’s court cases have
been very limited. For the cost
of the maintaining of these two
departments the city is getting
splendid service.
