Mr. W. H. Carroll, a former
resident of Bainbridge, but
now of Tampa, Fla., was in the
city a couple of days last week
as the guest of Mr. and Mrs.
W. R. Watson, n West Brough
ton street. Mr. Carroll was re
turning from Norfolk, Va.,
where he had attended a family
re-union. We was at one time
connected with the G. F. & A.
Railroad.
Mr. Ed Baughman, on old Bain
bridge boy but now of Atlanta
was here this week shaking
hands with old friends.

o clock Miss Regina Griner and
Mr. J. Holder Battle, both of
LelaGa., were quietly married
at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
J. L. Davis, of Eldorendo. Rev.
N. L. Huggins officiating.
Miss Annie Davis played
the wedding march while Misses
Ola Powell and Ethel Kelley and
Messrs. John L. Davis end John
Rentz led the way into the parlor
followed by the bride and groom.
The bride wore a handsome
dress of white organdie, trimm
ed with white satin and sleeves
and stockings to match. The
brides hat and veil was of hand
some white maline.
The young couple received a
shower of rice as they were
leaving in a car for their future
home in Lela, Ga. The best of
wishes for a long and happy life.
8. C. BELL ANNOUNCES..
It is with much interest that
R. C. Bell announces his can
didacy for re-election to the of
fice of Solicitor General of the
Albany Judicial Circuit. In re
viewing the name of Mr. Bell for
this situation, it can be done with
some certain degree of informa
tion with reference to the fitness
ot the man for the place. The
service of the past performed by
this official is still fresh in the
minds of the people thus giving
opportunity to all voters to de
cide on absolute merit.
On the basis of service render
ed fostered by a large and valu
able experienced gained through
actual service in this office. Mr.
Bell announces his candidacy
feeling that he can serve the
people in this office with greater
satisfaction and efficiency than
during the past.
Dr. Leonard Willis, son of E.
J. Willis of Bainbridge, has re
cently returned from New
Orleans where he was associated
with the Charity hospital as
house physician for a period ot
two years. Dr. Willis returns to
feis home city to enter upon the
practice of medicine and will be
associated with Dr. G. T. Clark.
Dr. Willis is a graduate of Tulane
University.
Mr. Will Kline, of the hustling
firm of Kline Bros, left last week
for Baltimore, New York, and
other eastern cities to buy their
fall and winter stock.

MEAT CURING IN SUMMER
IN COLD 8T0RAQE
On the afternoon of April 12th, Mr. J. F. Fain ot R. F.
D. killed two hogs for the purpose of testing the killing and
saving of meat in hot weather by cold storage. On the
morning of April 13th the meat was thoroughly salted and
placed in our meat curing cold storage. At the^end of thirty
days half the|meat was talaen out of storage and put through
the usual smoking process for ten or twelve days. Fifteen
days later Mr. Fain came for the balance of his meat and
stated that he had made a thorough examination of the first
lot and found it thoroughly preserved nicely cured and as
fine as any meat hejhad ever cured during cold weather.
We are prepared to take care of all meat brought us
for curing,
