The program for last Friday af
ternoon was cancelled on acount of
the pending basket ball game be
tween the local taeam and Diffee.
The game was played on the Diffee
court, and was the second game of
the season between the two teams,
the spectators agreeing that it was
interesting and to the point. The
high school grades accompanied the
team to Diffee, which, of course,
brought about many competitive
yells and lively tilts. From the be
ginning the game was hotly contested
and well played . The referees, Prof.
Oakley and O. B. Morris, were up to
the minute in their conclusive sup
ervision, and observers say that a
more fair and square deal was nev
er witnessed. Many visitors were in
attendance, either to encourage our
team, or to induce the pep of the
West Bainhridge Tigers. Despite
the warm sensation that prevailed
during the game the players and the
spectators as well retained a con
genial and manly disposition thru-
out the game, and we believe that
all who participated in the game and
those who expressed an eager incli
nation to determine favorable results
of the game would have sacrificed a
hearty handshake willingly.
Our list of boys who so gallantly
fought the battle, are as follows:
Ben Campbell, Carter Martin, Lon
nie McGiamery, Idus Lynn, and Lon
nie Joiner. The final score declared
Pine Hill to be the winner, but by a
close rub.
Supt. G. E. West spent the week
end in Macon, attending to business
matters. While there Mr. West call

cently entered Mercer University,
finding him in the best of health and
progressing nicely with his studise.
Waldo spent two weeks in school
here, and made muiy close personal
friends, who Svill be interested to
know that he is getting along so
splendidly.
Prof. G. M. McCord, of the Whig-
ham High School, spent a short while
here Saturday. This school is ex
pecting to receive jk challenge from a
literary contest from the Whigham
school in a few days. It is probable
(that there will also be some com
petition in basket ball circles, should
an invitation present itself.

Floyd Griffin, represented the nega
tive side, while Misses Grace Reed
and Alwayne Brooks represented the
affirmative. The boys presented a
good argument, but a novice could
have told that they could not com
pete with the girls. The affirmative
won.

One of the interesting episodes of
the week occurred here Friday. Mr.

the ball game. Trade made, the
trucks loaded, and on their way. But
lo, when they arrived at Stricklan
they discovered that Mr. West had
“been left behind. A return for him
was all.

A FULL MEASURE OF
LOCAL RESPONSIBILITY
Why is an automobile dealer? Simply because both the car buyer
and the car manufacturer realize the need of local responsibility for
car performance. ^
If this were not so you would buy automobiles direct from the
factory. But you want service, parts, a constant friendly interest in
vou and your new car right in the town where you bought it. This
is local responsibility.
When you look at our line of new Dodge Brothers models, we in
vite your consideration of the things we are doing to give with each
one we sell a full measure ofjocal responsibility.
