Some who favor
say that
tho stock law
many eases of typhoid
fover is owing to impure milk
caused by cows running at large 1
drinking from brunches or drains j
from towns and cities. This is all
a notion. In Gainesville and !
Hull county and many other places j
where cows arc not allowed to run
at large, they have typhoid fever.
In the mountains of Lumpkin and
other mountainous sections where
the water is as pure as it can be,
and people living miles apart,
there is tydhoid fever in some fam
ilies. And often not but one out
of a family of eight or ten has this
foyer. Don’t you know it' it was
from impure milk every one in »
family would have it?
to wander away into the woods if
they choose. The neighboring
farmers are protesting, fearing
damage to their crops. 'There will
be smoking vensions in many
j Stroudsburg houses before a great
while, adds the Morning News.
1 he habit of some people in
eavesdropping on mutual tele
phone hues, received a pretty hard
lick in a court decision in an east
ern slate .1 few days ago, accord
ing to tin exchange. The case
originated l»v one man bringing a
libel suit against another for hay
ing said in a talk over a line that
he was dishonest. In lcviewing
the case the court said in effect
that the eonvoisation vv.as supposed
to he private and confidential, and
if others along the line heard the
had story about the neighbor,
they were caves-dropping- on tin-
same principal its stealing into
one’s private conversation. The!
court holds a sensible view—that
those who use a telephone aro en-
titled to talk privately and confi-1
dent in My. While others have pow- j
or to listen, they really have no
i right to do so, and certainly no !
right to repeat such information
toothers. -
