JOB WORK.
Having a n*»w and beautiful supply of job type and
I one of Gordon’s celebrated Power Presses, we are
I prepared to do any kind of work in this line with
neatness, accuracy and dispatch, at moderate prices.
[FROM 1 ill. >a V kii GEORGIAN.]
AN ENIGMA.
There is a word of letters, four,
Which you have often seen, I’m sure ;
It doth compare when read aright,
A thing of soft refulgent light,
Such as the love sick youth espies
When gazing in fair maiden's eyes,
But backward read to mind it brings,
y A set of noxious ugly things;
f (With file like tails and pointed noses,
And odors far less sweet than roses.)
That revel on your cheese and bacon,
And all night long oft keep you waking;
As down the walls and o’er the ceiling
They’rush with hidious noise and squeeling.
And then again if rightly read,
Divested only of its head,
To mind it brings the name that’s given
To those who in their barques are driven,
In calm and storm, in wind and rain
Along the dark and rolling main.
GOING TO SEEEP.
The music sang itself to death ;
The lamps died out in their perfume:
Abassa on a silk divan,
Sat in the moonlight in her room.
Her handmaids loosed her scented hair
With lilly fingers; from her brow
Released the diamonds, and unlaced
The rube that held her bosom’s snow.
i
Then she laid down upon the bed
With folded hands a happy jnaid !
And slumber kissed her on the eyes,
And Jed her to the land of shade.

Chalybeate Springs,
MERK I WETHER CO., GA.
r IMIIS Establishment is now iu perfect order for
I the reception of Visitors. Since season I
have radicaltv changed the appearance of my place.
In effecting this, I have endeavored to re arrange my
Building in such a manner as will conduce most to ‘
the convenience and comfort of my guests.
THE BATHING HOUSES
are in Good Repair, and uii ample supply of pure wa
ter in readiness. The entire campus is situated on
the North, and between two prominent mountains,
from whose granite tops pleasant breezes continually
blow. The place being thus situated, is rarely visit
ed by a temperature tou torrid to be pleasant.
Preparations have been made for a generous pat- ;
rouage. My Hotel is in good repair, and I shall spare
neither means nor labor to furnish my table with the
very best the country affords. Immediately on the 1
Campus we have Four Springs—Chalybeate, Sul
phur and Freestone. From Chemical analysis, the ,
Chalybeate Spring contains Nitrate Potash, Sulphate j
Iron and Sulphate Alum; hence it has become not- ;
ed as a remedial agent of great value to nil those la
boring under the following maladies; Chronic Di
arrhoea, Dyspepsia, Kidney and Eruptive Diseases of
every character.
To all those who arc generally debilitated, it is ! 1
earnestly recommended, from whatever cause the
debility may have originated. It is an invaluable
remedy for a great many of the diseases to which
the female constitution is subject. To those who
have not, and wish au appetite, 1 say
Come and Drink at this Fount of Nature.
To all those who are seeking pleasure, pleasant
temperature and pure air, we emphatically say “here <
is the place.” We have had visitors who have been i
to the various Watering Places at the North in quest <
of health, who found no relief until they eanie to these <
Springs.
The Chalybf. vtk Springs are situated in Merri- . <
wether county, 2U miles from Geneva (on the Mus- . ;
cogee Railroad,) also the same distance from Thomas
ton, (the terminus of the Barnesville A Thomaston
Railroad.) There will be a Daily Line of Coaches, to
and from Thomaston, on the arrival and departure of
the cars. Stages leaving Thomaston at ’. 2 past 1
o’clock, PM, and arrive at the Springs at past 8.
Also a daily line of Stages from Geneva.
I also take the liberty here to state that the
WARM SPRINGS are in readiness for the acc »m
--modation of visitors. They arc only 7 miles from
the Chalybeate, to and from which there will be dai
ly coaches.
Permit me to return grateful thanks fur the past
patronage, and extend a cordial irix itation for theen- ■
suing season. ISAAC CHENEX .
