This is to certify, diat I have been afflicted with Sick
Headache, Dyspepsia, and Liver Complaint, and Costive
ness for the last eight or nine years, during which mne I
had taken, as well as I recollect, about sixty boxes of
Beckwith’s Pills, twelve boxes of Peters’ Pills. au*a
number of boxes of Champion’s and Brandrctli’s Pills, all
of which afforded me but iitde or no relief. At last. I was
recommended to try Doctor Spencer’s Vegetable Pills,
ASD WKi.r. 1 DID; fori never had but one attark of the
Sick Headache after I commenced taking the Pills, (now
about six months.) and I candidly confess, that I have de
rived more real benefit from die use of Spencer's Pills,
titan from all the other Medicines and Pills that I have
ever taken, nnd T would earnestly recommend them to
all, as being in my- opinion the best medicine in use for
all lingering complaints. The Pills have done me so much
good, that 1 would not fee 1 willing to be without them for
five dollars a hex; and I cannot but feel very grateful to
Dr. Spencer for having prepared such n valuable medi
cine, and tlie distribution of it is conferring a very great
favor on die public, as it is a thing of die utmost import
ance that every family should have a supply of Doctor
Spcncet’s truly valuable Pills constantly on hand.

That community may have some idea of the extremes ta
which disease tnoy go without being beyond the reach of
medicine, it is deemed proper to append the following state
ments of facts, taken from a nuuibei of similar import, wliirh
may yet be submitted as room and circumstance may admit,
Binu Couxty, Jan. 9th, 1844.
This may certify that my wife lias been afflicted with
Dyspepsia and Liver complaint for twelve years, and bag
taken a variety of medicines without apparent benefit; even
llio jostly celebrated Dr. Durham of Clark county, failed to
benefit lier. She suffered much from nervous irritability
palpitation of the heart and extreme weakness so as to lie
confined almost entirely to her bed. In this situation 1 ip.
plied to Dr. M. 8. Thomson, of Macon, under whose direc
tions nnd applications. 1 am happy to say, she soon was let
tered to comfortable health, and is now able to attend to all
tbe usual business of her bouse and family.
My daughter was also afflicted witn convulsive fits, from
which Dr. Durham failed to relieve bet. I applied to ;) r .
Thomson also in her case, and 1 am persuaded lie bag fi
nally cured her; she ha had no symptom of them iu six
months.
But these though certainly cf their kind very eminent,
cannot be compate d tor a moment with the caseol one cf
my sons, who has been afflicted with palsy to such a degree
ns to have become perfectly helpless. He first lost the nse ot
his limbs, then oh his body, and finally his UFA 111 sc. and
kyesight, so that he might be in a manner deail only he
breathed, and even that at one lime, was so nearly gone,
that his clothes were prepared in anticipation of bis final ex
it. We had made use of tlie usual remedies in such ca
ses, and even had applied to Dr. Siringl'ellow, a root doc
tor, but without benefit. In this situation, Dr. Thomson
was called in, who I am happy to say, lias restored him not
only to tlie full and free use of all his limbs, but also to the
use of his eyes and ears, without whichcreatna Were a
blank and life itselfa burden. Tbe change is so great fnm
absolute helplessness, Lliuducss and dcofnirs to life and
activity, SIGHT and HKAIttXG, that it can hardly be realised
by any but those wlio bare seen it. Tins is c cute which,
numerous as those eflected by the Doctor are, w ill hardly
give precedence to any.

To the Editors:
GENTLEMEN:—Oeeapying the important station in
community that you do, aud controlling such a powerful en
gine for good as tbe public press 1 have taken the liberty of
addressing you, being an old subscriber. u|H>n a subject of
great importance, and it maybe of infitmc advantage to
many tif your numcrou* leadec*. My ititeMiun in addressing
you 111 us, is merely to commuicate a fact that has come un
der my own knowledge, in mv own family and before my
own eyes, tnd wliirli I deem it my duty, as a good citizen,
to COtyiuuuiraie for the benefit of my fellow- men.—
Some time during last year, my son William, abroit 10
years old, was taken with a poraletic affection, by w-bicji he t
was entirely deprived of ilie use of his lower extremities
and bedy, so far as to be perfectly unable to change his posi
tion either oil Iiis pallet or in bed,—liis limbs became con- |
traded and sometimes appeared tobcspasuiou:cal!y affected;
tne contraction appeared toascend gradually to bis body, till '
it reached bis Lbdomen, tlie lower part of which was so j
powerfully contracted, as to throw the upper part upon the !
lungs, which so compressed them as almost to produce suf- I
focal ion; the parts protruding from just under the ribs lo an J
unnatural size. To walk was impossible, and even tlie pow- ;
er ofthe will had no influence over hia limbs. In lliis fit- ;
ualiun. I carried him to Macon and placed him imdcr the i,
care ol Dr. Thomson, of that city ; in two months 1 carried
liim home, greatly relieved; the coarse was still pursued lor i
two months more, and my son, once the helpless, mopieg,
decrepid aud palsied invalid, is now the active, cheerful and
bouyantbny of former days, running about everywhere, front
morning till night, so foi-d of field sports, that lie lias become
a perlecuerror to rabbits, partridges t Y other gume that mav
rresutne to ln;k upon the plantation; mid so pleased wii*
ds new acquired liberty, that lie himself lias beeome ilie
liveliest in hisoircle of contemporary acquaintance. The
result was so little anticipated by me,and by all who were
acquainted with tlie case, that it lias jieen deemed of sufli
cient importance to merit publicity, by giviug it which, y u
