Salvation for the Hair.
This la to certify that I have been lor years a sufferer
and tried all thetrnical have heard of or seen adrer
tiaed, with little or no relief from any of them I
heard Hurley's Bitters highly spoken of, and tried a
bottle, with little faith in it before I commenced, and
to my surprise and joy, before I finished one bottle,
I felt a great deal better and firmly believe that one or
two oocaslons it was the means of asTing and prolong
ing my tile. I conscientiously recommended them to
all sufferers as the best Bitters known, and advise
them always to ask for Dr. T. A. Harley’s and have
no other. You can nee this as you think proper, If it
will benefit others. Yours truly, tic.,

The Best Eating Ileuses In the Country,
I N voluntarily presenting thia communication to the
public, we are impelled by a desire to benefit those
who, like ourselves, are afflicted with diseases of the
eye, and by a sense of justice to Dr. Hooten. who baa
pe: ruaneutly established an Infirmary for the Blind,
in the city ol Atlanta, Ga. Dr. Hooten bavms been
blind three years himself, and having been restored
to sight by the same system of treatment which he
now practices, is well qualified to sympathise with and
restore chose similarly afflicted.
Dr. H. is a high-toned gentleman, and ia candid to a
fault, lie gives him opinions promptly, and always in
strict accordance with the dictates of his Judgment—
For success and established position, he relies on hia
own knowledge and skill in the practice, and not upon
combatting unjust charges made against htw» Gov
erned by this line of policy, he has steadily avoided
public vindication against any misrepresentations.
Dr. H. does not profess to restore the blind and
cure diseased eyes by super-natural agencies—such ss
the laying on of hands, etc., (as is attributed to him
by many>—but to treat the eye on strictly rational and
scientific principles, and to use the remedies relied

— adventurer. That he is no hum
bug. and could not possibly be. however much he
might desire it, is at once manifest to all reflecting,
impartial minds, ior the following reasons: 1. He ia
permanently located in Atlanta, where the true char
acter of hia practice must of necessity be known to
all the i coplo. ▲ humbug never locates permanently;
ho is compelled to keep on the move to avoid detec
tion. 2. Ho is a Georgian by birth, and Is connected
with one of tho largest, moat respectable and influen
tial families in the State. 3. He waa educated in part
at the State University of Georgia, and graduated in
medicine in the Old School at Louisville, Ky., and af
terwards attended an extra course of lectures. A He
has toon s ro^-uisr prscticiug physician for nineteen
y**rs, nearly all of which time has been spent in one
of the moat intelligent and refined sections of thia
State. He waa eminently successful as a general prac
titioner, and was bel t in the highest esteem by his
patrons. 6. Dr. H. has now ooen practicing on the
eye as a specialty, in the city of Atlanta, Ga.. for near
ly twelve months, advertising regularly and exten
sively in the public journals, and has distributed
broadcast over the Southern States his circulars, giv
ing as references the names of a large number of the
most respectable and prominent citizens of Georgia,
and of other States, together with certificates of per
sons cured by him, with name, poatofflee and Bute
strictly specified.
In making this record, we make no adventure—we
know whereof we affirm—for many ol us, before com
ing to Dr. H., had exhausted, in vain, the best sys
tems of treatment on the eye known to the medical
profession. Many of us came to him blind, and many
partially blind; we now see. Many before ns cams to
him blind and partially blind; they have been perma-
nentiy restored, and have returned horns.
The foregoing statements make an array of proof
which, we think, cannot fail to dmbnse any mind of
preindice that is not wholly beyond the reach of testi

DANIEL FOWLER,
aqgl7-mSm pmfee$6 Ordlnary
to testify to your great skill in treating diaeassa of the
eye. and to express to you my gratitude for the ser
vices rendered my little daughter, now aeren years of
age.
In July. 1868. she had measles, and while she was
recovering from the attack, it w#a discovered that her
eyes were severely affected. The disease finally set
tled in the left eye, which became very weak, and the
lids granulated. I had her under the tieatment of
different physicians, and tried different remedies,
with no permanent benefit til) her sight was ao se
verely affected, that she could not distinguish objects
with the left eje. She had to wear a shade over it
constantly, aa the light was very painful to her.
After the disease had run fbr more than a year, and
X had almost despaired of any proepeot of a recovery,
I put her under your treatment, and in a little over
four weeks the cure was complete; and she now sees
as well with the eye which I considered loot, as with
the other. In a word. I am satisfied her eye is entire
ly restored, both in appearanoe and sight.
Very respectfully, your obedient servant
JOSEPH E. BROWN.
