tried by a jury and found to be insane,

etiiy is peculearly afflicted but we trust
he will soon be restored to health.

In Memory of
Little Robert London Willoughby, sou
of M,r. and Mrs. Jndson Willoughby,
born January sth. 1898, aud died June
11th, 1899. Little Lendou’s was as beau
tiful as the sky above aud he was ever
full of love. Tne little curls that dust
ed around his head were so sweet. He
was too pure for earthly cares and taials
aud has gone tc heaven to wear a crown
of life aud to welcome papa and mama
to his bright and eternal home. His lit
tle body lies in the grave but his spirit
is sweetly resting with the angels above.
His father aud mother have our warmest
sympathy iu their sadness and losss of
little Lendon.but they should rejoice to
know that he is at rest and will never
know the trials and turmoils of this

Stockholders of the Monroe Cotton
Mills met in annual meeting last Fri
day. Treasurer’s report for the year
showed the earn'ngs of the mill to be
better than for any previous year since
the mill began running. A semi-an
nual dividend of five per cent was or
dered paid.
All old officers were re-elected, aud
the president was directed to sell new
stock sufficient to nearly double the cap
acity of the mill—Walton News and
Messenger.
