ROBBED THE GRAVE.
A startling incident of which Mr.
John Oliver of Philadelphia, was the
subject, is narrated by him as follows:
“1 was in a most dreadful condition.
skin was almost yellow, eyes sun
ken, tongue coated, pain continually
jn back and sides, no appetite—gradual
ly growing weaker day by day. Three
physicians had given me up. Fortu
nately, a friend advised trying ‘ ‘Elec
tric Bitters, ’ ’ aud to my great joy and
surprise, the first bottle made a decided
improvement. I continued their use
for three weeks, and am now a well
man. I know they saved my life, and
robbed the grave of another viotim,”

cents per bottle at Winder Drag Cos,
It is impossible for us to mention all the good things we have in store for you, but will mention a few.
A Wonderful Corn.
Mr. J. E Bradbury Jr., who lives in
the lower corner of Jackson county
near the Ciarki county line, has anew
and wonderful vari-ty of co<m that is
attracting considerable attention. H"
has been improving this corn for a num
ber oi years and now thinks ho has
brought it up almost to per lection. In
is the most prolific corn known and he
can show you iu his field of ten acres or
more, ten ears to three hills. Ho will
have a large exhibit of it at the -State
fair where it can be seen by ail who at
tend. Any one wanting seed corn
would do well to write him at Athens,
Georgia.
Mr. Bradbury is one of the nicest
farmers iu the state and believes in fix
ing np a farm so as to make it attractive
and a home sure enough. He also be
lieves in raising everything at home and
some to spare. He has a regard for
convenience and it will interest aud iu
stract any one to visit his farm. Every
farmer who can should try some of his
wonderful corn another year.

Thomson has two or three boys who
are old enough to marry, and able to
spport a wif and who we are sure could
marry if they made the proper effort
but who seem disposed to shirk their
duty as citizens. Now it seems we can
not get a state law taxing bachelors, so
we propose an ordinance to make all
bachelors old enough to marry and able
to support a wife, marry or move oat of
town and not permit their coming to
town except Saturdays.
The above from the McDuffie Enter
prise, of Thomson, Georgia, applies as
wall to a few young men of Winder,
and if some of the young ladies would
J cut this out and send them it might
'rtir thesa young men to action and re-
I suit in Winder having a few weddings.

Accepts Call to Atlanta.
Walton News and Messenger.
R v J. J. Bennett has accepted the
call to the pastorate of the Jackson Hill
Baptist Church in Atlanta. The church
here and at Social Circle see him make
his preparations to leave with extreme
regret. In his short sojourn ainoung ns
he has endeared himself to every mem
ber of his flock, and won bosh! s the
lasting admiration and li mrty good will
of each community.
In some respects it is a sacrifice lor
Mr. Bennett to accept the Jackson Hili
call. His duties will bo more arduous
than here; he will not have the time for
scholarly research which lias been at his
disposal. Still lie feels that the call pro
ceeds not alone from the individuals
who have uttered it, and hence remem
bers that the life of the true Christian
and worthy pastor is one of sacrifice.
Contrary to general belief, Mr. Ben
nett will not receive any greater com
pensation in Atlanta than he would get
here. Asa matter of fact, it is less.
Being called.so early in life to a charge
of such responsibility as he now accepts
ia a distinct recognition of his ability
and rare fitness. Those who know Mr.
Bennett most intimately have no doubt
as to his complete success in the work he
now undertakes.
President King, Farmer’s Bauk,
Brooklyn, Mich., has used DeWitt’s Lit
tle Early Risers in his family for years.
Says they are the best. These famous
little pills cure constipation, biliousness
and all liver and bowel troubles. G. W.

This certifies that I was afflicted with
chronic headache. I took treatment
from Dr. Banks for thirty days aud de
sire to say that I have been wonderful
ly cured, Very Respectfully,

I was very bad, down nearly all the
time suffering with my side, back and
kidneys, and would have been dead
long ago without relief. After taking
Dr-J. H. McLean’s Liver and Kidney

me, and by the time the second bottle
was gone I was well and have been in
