The Georgia legislature met yesterday
The Populist will be about twice as
strong as they were two years ago.
The republican aud democratic spell
binders are doing tneir best in Now
York State and both sides claim they
will carry it.
li you have no Barker aud Donnelly
tickets for yonr county send to this of
fice at once and get them at SI.OO per
1000 delivered.
Barker aud Donnelly are the men to
vote for in the presidential election it
you favor a government ran in the in
terest of all the people.
Hon. John Sherman, one of the great
leaders in American politics for the past
forty years, died at his home in Wash
ington city laßt Monday.
Anew York policeman has been
suspended for stealing from his priso
u* r. Boss Croker ought to make this
policeman one of his alderman in the
next city eleotion of greater New York.
It makes no difiereuce whether we
win or not in the present national elec
tion. The qnestiou for as to solve is,
are we right. If we believe we are then
we would be moral cowards and an
trne to oar principles not to vote for
Barker and Donnelly. The way for
reform measures to succeed is for those
who believe iu them to slick and keep
voting for them. Don’t go back
wards to be with a larger crowd. Be
what you are and when you find what
you are, beman enough to stand to it.
Let Populists keep up their party or
ganiz vuon and party vote. Let there
be no sulking, no indifference. Let
every Populist voter go to the poile on
the rtth day of November and vote his
party ticket and Donnelly.
Ultimately the farmers of the nation,
as a class, will abandon the two old
parties and join their fortunes and give
tneir votes to the Peopl’ Party. Now
‘a ihe time to do your duty and help
kef-p up our party organization,
Livingston had to quit stumping Ntw
Jersey for Mr. Dry an and come back
home to look alter Charles I Branau
who ha* announced himself as a caudi
date for congress. It is fortunate for
Livingston that Chariie came out
•Against him. Hid he not done this the
people of Georgia would have never
known of his New Jersey tour and that
he seved it for Mr. ( Bryan. The Demo
cratic party of this btate should elect
him to succeed Senator Clay as he cer
tainly deserves it. Ho lias carried N..

In Memory of Our
Brother R. M. Patrick.
It is with heartfelt grief audsympthy,
that we pen these lines in sweet re
membrance of out' friend and brother;
than whom no better neighbor ever
lived. We feel that our coomiuuitv has
sustained a great loss in him, for ac
commodating his fellow man and doing
good to him seemed to be one of his
greatest delights. It has been 6aid "A
good heait is the best thing in the world
to possess.” Having this, he was quick
to see what was fit to be done by him,
and it made him a good neighbor and a
good companion.
To his sorrowing wife and children,
we extend our deepest sympaty in this
the darkest hour of their lives. But
weep not dear ones; for the beauty aud
grandeur of the starry heavens are on
ly to be seen when set against the brow
of night; so sorrow often reveals to U3
our Father, whom the sunlight of pros
perity hides. Sorrow is oue of God’s
own angels in the iand, and it’s simplest
and most obvious use is to remind ns of
God. You feel that your best friend
has gone, and left your hearts ana home
desolate, but remember this, God al
ways he*p a those who help themselves,
tiiat he never forsakes those who are
good and true and that he hoareth even
the young ravens, when they cry.
You may still lore the departed oue.
He is yours as ever, and you are hi*.
The ties that unite yon are not broken.
Think of him still as the same kind and
affectionate husband and father he was
whi'e here on earth, aud not cold and
still iu death, bat Bring iu the sunshine
of God. Going before as he has always
done, and beckoniug his loved ones left
bshind, to that better land, where part
ing comes no more.
Man that is born of woman is of a
few days and full of trouble. He
cometh forth a9 a flower and is cat
down. He fleeth as a shadow and con
tinuethnot. Seeing his days are de
termined, and his months arj number
ed, he lieth down and giveth up the
ghost, and riseth no more, till heaven
shall be no more.
Brother Patrick was born November
3-d, 1858, was 41 years, 11 months and
9 days old. He died the 12 th of Octo
ber 1900. He was married to Miss Alice
Kinney, October 20th. 1891. He leaves
a wife and six children and a host of
friends to mourn his death.
‘•Honor the grave, houor the open earth,
Honor the body that we give to clay,
’Twas immortal structure from its birth,
Aud it shail have a resurrection day.
Then tenderly give to mother earth the
pr.z.
And let her keep it till God shall bid
it rise.”
Brother, good bye, sweet b 9 thy sleep
till waking on some brighter, fairer
shore, we bid thee good morning and
if from thy heavenly home thou canst
look down upon the busy scvues of life,
where thou didst hold such sway of
loyal, loving hearts, may thy dear eyes
behold each lodge the abode of sweet
concord; each Craftman with earnest
heart and working tools in willing
hands bnilding upon the designs thou
hast drawn.
May peaoe, Joy and plenty, with

Obituary.
In memory of J. A. Garner, better
known as Ab Garner, who departed this
lile September 3rd, 1900. Ab was six
teen years aud six months old. He was
a good and kind hearted boy and the
more one knew of him the more they
would love and admire him for his no
ble traits of character. He was so kind
and manly and always met you with a
smile. He was always obedient to his
father and mother and gentle and lov
ing to them aud his brother aud sister,
aud they were all devotedly attached
to him. His death was a sad blow to
them and his many relatives and friends.
It was hard for them to give up Ab,
who wa9 so young and promising, but
we should try aud so live that when the
summons comes we may meet with him
iu the home of eternal rest where all is
joy and happiness. A Friend.
ROBBED THE GRAVE.
A startling incident of which Mr.
John Oliver cf Philadelphia, was the
subject, is narrated by him as follows:
“I was in a most dreadful condition.
My skin was almost yellow, eyer sun
ken, tongue coated, pain continually
iu back aud sides, no appetite—gradual
ly growing weaker day by day. Three
physicians had ’given me up. Fortu
uately, a friend advised trying ‘ ‘Elec
tric Bitters, ’ ’ and to my great joy and
surprise, the first bottle made a decided
improvement. I continued their use
for three weeks, and am now a well
man. I know they saved my life, and
robbed the grave of another victim,”
No one should fail to try them. Only
60 cents per bottle at Wiuder Drag Cos,
