the largest of the Southern States out
side of Texas.
Every Populist should vole for Barker

going to vote your ticket —why should
you vote tuvira:
The old parties always want you to
vote with them one more time and ii
they should live one hundred years long
cr would want yon do this.

hive hundred new national backs
have been organizsd in the last six
months under the act of Congress giv
ing them as many bank notes as they de
posit government bonds, and pay them
interest on the bonds too. The favored
few get all they ask for in this liber
ty loving country of ours. When will
the people learn some sense?
The Plow Boy’s
Kind Words.
Bro. Wilsor, one of the old and true
war horses iu the great reform move
ment, and editor of the Buford Plow Boy.
did us the honor in the last issue of his
paper to give our editorial iu full of two
weeks ago, headed “To the Friends of
this Paper ” In hi3 comments on the
same he sajs some very kind things of
U 9 which we would consider more as
flattery did we not know him to be too
• true a friend and too sincere to resort to
such tactics even to make one feel good.
Please accept our thanks, Bro. Wilson,
with the hope that the Plow Boy may
live to see our principles triumph and
that its many readers will show their
appreciatio i to yen for your efforts iu
fighting for the light.
The national bankers get the use of
sl.Uoofrom the government one year
for live dollars. No wonder they can
control the destines of a nation and
grow fat aud saucy while the bulk of
mankind grow poorer. If you have a
THINKER use .hat THINKER a little
and vote for your owu interest.
Enthroning a
Righteous Principle.
From the St. Louis Christian Advo
cate.
Charles Sumner the srreat anti
slavery leader, iu a speech in 1848,
said: “I hear the old political saw,
that we must take the least of two
evils. For myself, if two evils are
presented to me, I will take neither.
But it is said that we shall throw
away our votes aud that our opposi
tion must fail. Fail, sir! No hon
est earnest effort in a good cause can
fail. It may not be crowned with
the applause of men; it may not
seem to touch the goal of immediate
worldly success, but it is not lost.
Our example will be the mainspring
of triumph hereafter.” .
Thiuk of the above aud vote next
Tuesday for Barker and Donnelly.

Weekly Cotton Letter.
We have been advising all our cus
tomers to sell their cotton up to the
present time, feeling confident that cot
tun would go very much lower. Our
prophecy has been fully realized aud we
now venture to make another prediction
that is as sure to come true as the form
.r ”and. It is our opinion that the price
!of cotton will b? very, much higher by
' the first of the year, and we advise a 1
of cur customers to hold their product
for the advance that has already stall
ed. Up to the present time the receipts
have been enormous aud have forced
the market down by slow degrees. Iu
addition to this, the weather has been
almost perfect and the cotton trade
generally has been looking for a top
crop that woo’d discount the late start
New this notion has been removed and
the receipts are also falling off and will
continue to fall off, and the price will
as surely go up. Hold your cotton, and
if you need money, the bauk will lend
you money at*B per cent. Cotton here
to day, 9>g.
