phy Candler, chairman of the railroad
commission, made his first official an
nouncement that he will not be a can
didate for re-election.
His term expires next December 21.

Royston Has Big Fire.

Royston was visited by SIOO,OOO fire
last Saturday. The Farmers Oil Mill
was totally destroyed by flames which
broke out about 6 o’clock in tlve morn
ing.
Seventeen hundred tons of cotton
seed, sixty tons of meal and sixty tons
of hulls were destroyed. Several ad
joining buildings and residences caught
fire but tlie flames were extinguished
by tlie firemen.
