Athens were called to the bedside of
their mother, Mrs W. D. McDonald,
who was seriously ill, but is improving
slowly.

week end here with his parents.

were the guests of Mrs. At Coker of
Athens for the week end.
Miss Velma Cody returned home last
Sunday after spending some time in
Atlanta with relatives.

We notice in the Banner-Herald an
article stating that a party from Ath
ens would visit the Mud Volcano near
Winder. It is located near Chapel on
Mr. J. h. Harris' place and is a mystery
to all. If they would read G. J. N.
Wilson’s history of Jackson county, it
would tell them of the dreadful things
that happened then* in the long ago.
The place is under cultivation now
and produces tine corn, also tine corn
field belans.
