WINDER HI WINS TWO GAMES.
Last Thursday Winder Hi defeated
the strong Christian college Quintet
by the narrow margin of 19 to 18. It
was a close game and kept the large
crowd In a state of excitement thru
out. The first half of the game ended
with Winder in the lead 12 to 0. In
the second salf the visitors forged
ahead when Jacobs sent the crowd
wild with a beautiful shot from al
most mid-field, tying the score. Five
more minutes were played to break
the tie and just as the game was clos
ing 1\ hitley shot a fowl which gave
the game to Winder. Jacobs was the
star for Winder closely followed by
Whitley and Carpenter. East and Gar
rett were the stars for the visitors.
Friday Lawrenceviljle came down
for a game and our boys went in the
game with but one thing in view—to
get revenge for a defeat early in the
season. Winder was clearly outplay
ing them until one of their men got
hurt, when Lawfenceville seeing de
feat ahead refused to continue the
game and forfeited it to Winder 2 to
0. Whitley, Radford and Carpenter
played the best ball for Winder, while
Craig and Maddox played best for the
visitors.
Next Wednesday Winder will meet
probably the strongest team of the
season when they clash with Coving
ton. But Winder is out to win. so
come out and pull for the home team.
