Mrs. JameA Austin, who has been quite ill at the home of her father, has returned home. Mr. Joe Austin and family ami Mr. Babe Jones and family spent one da> last week with friends in the country. Mr. Will lh Smith has recovered from rheumatism, and the ring ol his saw and hammer is again heard in our village. Misr Annie Carrington, of WL> dcr, visited friends here this week. Many from this place attended the prayer services held at Mr. Tom Austin’s Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Me. Florence Ilell and little son, James, are visiting rela tives this week. Mary Willie Russell entertained a large crowd of children Saturday picnicking. All carried lunches and had a nice time gathering flowers. Miss Della Smith entertained a few of her friends Thursday night. Some good singing was enjoyed, Mrs. Willie Jew Meadows, of Winder, visited home folks Friday. Brothers Dcwc sand Q.uillia'n gave us a plea-ant call Thursday. We are always glad to have the preachers with us. Mr. J. J. Cox is having some improvements made on his resi dence. MGSCHTON. Sunday was quarterly meeting day There was a large crowd and plenty of dinner on the ground. Mr. H. J. Garrison, of Winder, v sited home folks Sunday. BETHLEHEM. Polities are hot in this neck of the woods. The Hon. James L. May.son, candidate' for congress from the Fifth District, will speak here Saturday at 12 o'clock. He has a large following here and quite an audience will greet him. Dr. J. b. Long of Good Hope, was in town Tuesday. Messrs. Evans, Barnett and Bank* of near Hoschton, were here Mon day. Dr. Adams and wife attended jSf I ** Ipilp Bigg mm, preaching at N< w Chapel Sunday. A Cniversalist preacher, Mrs. Bowles, spent several days with Mrs. C. 'l'. Mathews the past week, and preached several times at the Academy. The Odd Fellow’s anniv* rsay will he celebrated the 20th at Kethlel em Camp C round, 1 hero will he several addresses hv prominent men, and a lively time is anticipated. COUNTY iJNE. We have_a good Sunday school at this placet Miss Ruth Wiley and Mr. Ronal .Jackson, of Hosehton, attended Sunday school here Sunday. The singing at Professor Rioh hurg’s Sunday night was highly enjoyed by all. Mr. Attison, of Covington, was a visitor here Sunday. Mr. John House and sister, Miss Jessie, attended preaching at Hosch ton Sunday. Mrs. Mollie Davis and little daughter, May, spent the week with her father, Mr. M. H. Hudson, of Mulberry. Miss Sue Thomas visited Misses Emma and Lena Hayes Monday afternoon. Mr. Walter Cummings and Miss Bell Chandler were married April 4th. They have the best wishes of many friends in this section. A cow belonging to Mr. A. S. Puckett went mad last week. Mr. .). T. MeNeal and family visited Mr. A. S. Puckett Sunday. Mrs. Anna Rainey visited Misses Emma and Lena Hayes last Mon day afternoon.
