We are having warm weather now, and crops are looking fine. Some of four people attended preaching at Pentecost Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Mobley visit ed Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Mobley Monday- Mr. A. D. Wall visited his sister, Miss Mary Wall Sunday afternoon. Misses Nellie Davis and Estelle Shed, of Winder, attended Sunday school at this place Sunday after noon . Mr. John Grizzle visited Mr. Henry Mobley Sunday. Mr. Boh Wall and sister, Miss Ruby Wall, went to Ebernezer Sun day to hear the Wages family make music. Mrs. E.[D. Mobley made a flying trip to Sunday after noon . Misses Ada McDonald, Wilder F'enteeost, Lunaie Haynie and Viola Hardigne, of Pentecost, attended Sunday school at this place Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Haynie at t< nded preaching at Pentecost Mon day. The Pentecost and Pleasant Hill ball game Saturday resulted in a score of IK to 12 in favor of Pleasant Hill. PENTECOST. Protracted services begun at the church at this place Sunday. We are having good meetings and large crowds. Miss Edna Merle Jackson, of Commerce, came Sunday to assist in the literary school at tins place. Pentecost and Pleasent Hill will have a celebration at Pleasant Hill the first Saturday in August. Every one invited to come and brine a well tilled basket. Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Haynie visit ed the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. M-Haynie, Monday. Prof. Kimsey visited Ins sister, Mrs. Parson, of Jefferson, Sunday. Miss Levie Hancock is visiting re latives in this section. Mr. and Mrs. McElroy, of Mon roe,am the guests of Mr. and Mrs. R. N. Pentecost and family this week. Quite a crowd from here attended the singing at Ebenezer Sunday. The Wages band made some fine music. Mr. Zeke Haynie, of Clem, Ga., spent the week-end wit h his brother, Mr. J. M. Haynie, of tins plaice. Miss Jessie Lyle visited Miss Floy Elrod Sunday. Miss Sunie Segars visited relatives here recently. Miss Viola Hardigree visited Miss Wilder Pentecost Sunday. Miss Emma Williamson was the guest of Misses Bertha and Alice McElhannon Saturday night. ROCKY RIDGE. Rain is needed in this section. Mrs. Callie Hosch and son, Mr. Willie, spent Monday in Winder. Mr. Hull Harrison and family spent Saturday night with Mr. F. M. McDonald. Misses Eddie Perkins and Ora Ed gar spent Monday with Miss Maude Clack. Mrs. Belle Perkins, who has been sick for some time, is improving. Miss Eaver McDonald spent the latter part of last week with her sis ter, Mrs. Hull Harrison. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. (Tack visited Winder Friday. Mrs. Nancy Austin, who has been confined to her room for several days, is improving. The union meeting commences at next Sunday. We are expecting a good meet. It will lie conducted by Rev. I. H. Miller and liev. Otwell, of Gainesville. The meetings will hr held under tin old arber. Messrs. G. H. Holloway and Clif ford Austin spent Sunday at Para dise. AUBURN. That fifty thousand-dollar school building at Auburn is practically a certainty. Several of our young people went to the all-day singine at Hog Moun tain Sunday. Miss Mabel Chandler, of Atlanta, is spending the summer with home folks here. Green Perry, Kelly Elrod, Rob ert Pool and I. hi. Strickland went to Clayton last week to represent Auburn lodge in the Ninth Con gressional District Masonic conven tion. They report a good time. Mr. P. A. Chesser has just re turned from a fishing trip in south Georgia. Talking about lish tales, 1 wish you could hear Dock tell just one. Miss Bessie Terry, of Atlanta, spent last week with Miss Myrtle Flanigan. Mrs. H. E. Roddy, of Milton county, is visiting her sister, Mrs. I. H. Strickland, this week. Mr. Cleveland Morgan, of Ath ens, was visiting home folks nere Sunday. Mr. Ben Wilson came up from Colbert Sunday. We had due of the best ball games of the season here Tuesday. Rocky Creek crossed bats with the home team, the score being 4 to 3 in favor of Auburn. The batteries were Perry and Cain for Auburn, Bagwell and Maxie for Rocky Creek. Mr. T. C. Flanigan went to Hosehton Tuesday on a business trip. Mr. J. G. Wood went to Wrights ville on the excursion lust week and reports a good time. Judge George Rubinsor , of Win der, was in town Tuesday. Come again, George. People here are al ways glad to see you. CORINTH. The crops through this section are needing rain very bad. We are very dry. Mrs. Summer preached to a very large audience last Sunday at this place.' She was the guest of Mrs. J. Hardy Bedingfield. Mrs. O. A. Johnson, of Winder, and grand.nighter, Miss Essie John son, of Birmingham, Ala., are vis iting the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Hinesley this week. Miss Thirza Odum and father, Mr. James R. Odum, of Bethle hem, were visiting Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Odum and family Sunday. Mr. J. 0. Wright and family, of near Bethel church; Mr. and Mrs. Tharon Hinesley, of Russell, and Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Fuller, of this place, visited Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Hinesley Sunday. Mr. Louis Bramlet, of Lawrence ville, was visiting Misses Cleo and Ruby Holloway Sunday. Mr. .T. C. Bedingfield, of Bethle hem, attended preaching at this place Sunday. Mr. Hugh Greeson and sister, of Nazareth, visited Miss Tishie Thom as Sunday. The prayer meeting was well at tendee! at the home of J. W. Whit ley Sunday afternoon. Mr. David Smith has begun a nice residence at his old home place. Mr. Lou Smith is better at this writing. Mr. Calvin Edwards, of near Orner, visited Mr. J. M. Fuller Tuesday. We are glad to say we have a new bridge at this place, built by /■ N. Hendrix, of Bethlehem. Our school is in a flourishing con dition, 4o scholars on roll, under care of Miss Bertie Wiley, of Cov ington, Ga. Big meeting will start at this place Vugust 12. Everybody invit ed to attend these services. Mr. and Mrs. Hull Harrison vis ited at Rocky Ridge Saturday night and Sunday. Corinth Sunday school is talking of having a Sunday school picnic very soon. Mrs. Carrie Whitley.of this place, is very sick at this writing. RUSSELL Mrs. Peter Smith mid two chil dren spent part of last week with Mrs. IL B. Russell. Mr. A. A. Darby is visiting his sister, Mrs. W. P. Smith. He will return to hie home in a few days at Vidalia, Ga. Mrs. Sarah Smith and son, of Cherokee county, is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Curtis, of this place. Mr. Joe Austin’s family visited homefolks this week. Judge R. B. Russell is at home this week. We often judge the tree by its fruit but Russell bore the fruit with out the tree last week. I never saw so many peaches. The Bethlehem team will confer the second degree at Winder the first Monday night in August. All Odd Fellows are requested to attend. Mrs- Edward Russell and little daughter from Washington, D. C ~ were visiting Judge R. B. Russell Tuesday last. Mrs. Will Smith and Mrs. .J. ,J. Meadow spent a day near New Chapel this week. Mr. Carl Cox is in Athens for a while. Mr. Davis, a nephew of Mrs. J. J. Cox, spent the day with Mrs. Cox Sunday.
