Misses Dora and Lyddie Stewart, of Milton, were the guests of their aunt, Mrs. Cora Mobley, last week. Miss Bertha McDonald was the guest Sunday of her sister, Mrs. Ed llaynie. Mrs. Fannie Steed fell out a door Saturday and was painfully bruised. Mrs. G. W. Steed was the guest of her son, Mr. Luther Steed, last week. Mr. John Grizzle and Mr. Frank Hammonds were in Winder Satur day. Mr. A. D. Wall visited Start ham Saturday. Mr. Luther Steed, Candler Mob ley and Will Wall were guests of Mr. J. N. Wall Friday. Mrs. M. F. Goodwin visited her father recently. Mrs. Julia Wall was the guest of Mrs.G. W. McDonald Friday. Misses Nora and Mary Lou Owens were the guests of Misses Sunie, Cleo and Oeie Wall Wednesday. Mr. Jim Grizzle has U*en suffer ing with a bone-fallon on his finger. Mr. and Mrs. Ixirenzo Wall visit- ed Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Wall Sun day. Mr. John Whitehead is in Jeffer son this week. BETHLEHEM. Protracted meetings have come and gone and in some instances they have been a success, as men call success. The recent showers have been hard on the fruit crop, but have helped late corn and gardens. Dr. Adams and wife visited the Gate City recently and report a nice time. Mrs. Austin and little grand daughter, Edith Austin, of At lanta, who have been spending some time with Mrs. W. \V. Jen nings, returned home Tuesday. A large number of our people at tended church at Chapel Sunday. Professor Moore came in from Jersey a few days ago, where he lias been teaching. He is now con ducting a class of 85 at Hebron, in Oconee county. There are few things that are better than the old fasioned singing school. • Mr- Bill Page is confined to his home with fever. We hope he will soon be out again. Our excellent tax receiver has completed his books, and he shows that be is a very tired man. ’Tis quite a job to make out three large, massive books in the style these books are finished. Mr. W. C. Yearwood is not only a hustling blacksmith, but is a mer chant as well. S. S.
