Mrs. Marion Arnold, of Athens, was in the city Sunday the guest of relatives. Mrs. J. B- Cheek has returned home after spending a week with relatives in Auburn. Miss Ola Daniel has returned to her home in Winder, after spend ing several days with Dr. and Mrs. J. C. Daniel. Miss Norma Booth was in Rome recently, being called there to the l>edside of her brother, Clarence, who has been very ill. We are glad to say that he is much improved now. Miss Kate Billingley, of Monroe, N. (J , is spending a few weeks in the city,the guest of her aunt, Mrs. J. M. Arnold. Mrs. J. M. L. Thurmond is at Dr. Brown’s sanitarium, near At lanta. She is very much improved and her many friends are hopeful of her recovery. Prof. A P. Watkins and Mr. C. E- Nickelson spenl the week-end at Maysville- Mr. W. B. Lowe, of Jefferson, visited home-folks Sunday. Miss Lrma Hancock was visiting in Bogart Sunday. Misses Blanch and Memphis Smith, of Winder, returned to their home Tuesday, after spending sev eral days with their brother, R. L. J. Smith. Mr. W. H. Whitman is at home for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Treadwell, are on an extended visit to relatives and friends in Monroe. Mrs. Sal lie Ware was in Winder Monday and Tuesday. Misses Myrt Arnold and Frankie Powers, of Athens, were the guests Ureeiie Arnold Sunday. Luther Cody are glad to know that they have moved back here from Atlanta. M iss Hattie Aycock entertained at 42 last Thursday evening. Those who were present report a pleasant evening. Mr. H. K. P erson spent Sunday with home folks at Monticello. Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Coker and Mrs. Florence Bell, of Winder,were the guests of Mr. and Mrs- Pink Dooley Sunday. Sheriff Collier, of Jefferson, was shaking hands with friends on our streets Wednesday. The Comedy Company of Statham made their liret appearance at High Shoals last Wednesday night. CORINTH. The farmers are about done gath ering. Mr. and Mr?. R. C. Wright, of Winder, were visiting the former's sister, Mr J. T. Hinesly, last Sun- day. Miss Cathlene Bedingfield visited her grand-parents at Bethlehem Saturday night. Mr. and Mrs. J. Hardy Beding field visited Mr. J. H. Bedingfield and family Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Fuller visited Mr. .J. T. Thompson, of Bethlehem, Sunday. Miss*‘s Mvrt and Ada Smith vis ited Misses Alma and Fronie Hines - ley Thursday. Misses Mamie and Ruby Odum j and Mr. Charles Marrow visited Mr. Pierce Smith Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Bedingfield and family of Camilla, Ga., are visititg ye scribe, of this place, and relatives of Bethlehem. They will probably reside in this community. Winder, visited Mr. J. T. Hinosley Sunday. Miss Pearl Morrow and Brother, Ed, were visiting Miss M amic Odum Sundays Mr. an and M rs. H.T. H ineslcy vis ited the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Billie Smith, Wednesday. M essrs. John, Ed and Emory Bedingfield visited Mrs. J. M. Fuller Thursday night. Sunday school at this place is flourishing. The school meets Sun day morning at 10 o’clock. If the parents and children of this place would attend these Sunday schools it would be a great success before, many Sundays. EBERNEZER. There will be an all-day meeting at Ebernezer the third Sunday ii. November, conducted by Revs Manus and Stone. Everybody in vited. Will be dinner on the grounds. Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Hancock, of Jefferson, visited in this commu nity Friday. Miss Myrtle Rogers, of Comer, is visiting her brother, Mr. Mar shall Rogers, this week. The candy pulling at Mr. Weldon Roberts was highly enjoyed Friday night. Miss Ada Roberts visited home folks Saturday night and Sunday. Mr. and Mrs v P. L. Giles visited Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Rogers Sun day. The Sunday school at Ebernezer church has been reorganized and the new superintendent and teach- , ers are taking much interest in the , work. The attendance Sunday was I fairly good. We hope to see the school grow in numbers until every family in the surrounding commu nity is represented j JOHNSON’S ACADEMY. Several from this place attended Sunday school at Ebernezer Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Weldon Roberts spent Saturday night with Mr- and Mrs. W. A. Watson. Mrs. J. M. Join son has returned home from Atlanta. Mr. and Mrs. J. I). Wall and family spent Sunday with Mrs. Millie Wall, near Pentecost. * Little Mattie Bell Willoughby is quite ill at this writing. Messrs. Fred Hunt and Albert Willoughby visited Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Fite, of Statham, Sunday, Misses Ada and Beulah Roberts spent Saturday night and Sunday with Misses Woodie and Claudie Roberts, of Ebernezer. Mrs. Mattie McCleskey, of Center, is visiting her brother, Mr. Watson. Mr. and Mrs. Oma McDonald, of Pentecost, spent Sunday with the latter's mother, Mrs- T. G. M- Chandler. Walter Finch made a business trip to Statham Saturday, also J. A. Willoughby. James Cody and wife, of Oak Grove, visited Mr. and Mrs. Jim Fulcher Sunday. Married, Sunday, at the home of Mr. J. M. Johnson, Mr. W. I. Hayes and Miss Delitha Simmons, Judge A. I. Lyle performing the ceremony. . Several from here attended preaching at Gallilee Sunday. J. C. M. PLEASANT HILL. Rev. R. S. McGarrity filled his regular appointment at this place Sunday, A good sermon was heard by a very large congregation. L iMrs. Fannie Hamilton and Miss Nora Owens w'ere m Winder Fri day. . Several of our young people at tended preaching at Bear Creek Sunday. The entertainment at the home of Mr, and Mrs. Lon Hamilton Saturday night was highly enjoyed. Mrs. Jane Finch was the guest of Mrs. J. L. Owens Saturday night. Mr. Louis Grizzle was in Winder Saturday. Several from Pentecost attended preaching here Sunday. r Miss Birtie Mobley was the guest of Miss Mattie Jones Saturday night. Mr. Green Wall spent Monday night with Mr. Jim Owens. Mr. Davie Hale and his friend Mr. Dot, were the guests of Mr. Albert Duncan Saturday night. Several from Statham attended services here Sunday. Rev. R. S. McGarity spent Sat urday night with Mr. Bud Mobley and family. Mr. Will Wall was in Winder Saturday.
