school at Oak Grove Monday.
Rev. J. C. Patrick preached a
good sermon here Sunday night.
Mr. and Mrs- John Porter and

Mr. Willie Cooper, who has l>een
in ill health for some time, was at
Hoschton Saturday. Mr. Cooper is
an orphan boy about twenty-two
years of age, and we ' are sorry to
learn that he is suffering with tuber
•culosis.
Mrs. Edna Peeler, of Atlanta, is
visiting Mr. Jack Jones and family.
Mr. Will Jones was at Star ham
Saturday.
Poor old Sager, how we do miss
him. It was awful for us to have
to give him up, hut surely lie will
come again. We hop- he will, at
any rate.
That fellow who sprung up from
Patrick’s Academy some time ago
did not stay with u.- long enough
for us to get acquainted with him.

Ye scribe has cotton three and a

long. Who can beat it, and we had
a good rain last week which put the
ground in fine shape for laying by

burn, died Friday night. Mr.

The Winder physicians went down
to the session of the Tri-County
Medical Association at Monroe this
week. They report an interesting
and profitable meeting and are loud
in their praise of the hospitality of
our neighUtrs.
Mr. J. W. Marlow, anex-Winder
merchant who is trying his hand at
farming this year, brought the
editor some of the finest Irish
potatoes we have seen this season.
Mr. Marlow says he will re-plant
and make two crops of the variety
