Mrs S. T. Ross has returned
from .Jefferson,where for a week she
had been tin 1 guest of homefolks.
Mrs. Elizabeth Hinton, of Lum-
Iterton, Miss., is the guest of Mrs.
X. J. Kelly. Before returning t<>
her home, Aunt Elizabeth will
spend several weeks visiting relatives
and friends in and around Winder.
The friend* of Mr. S. C. Potts are
talking about him in connection
with the sheriff’s race next year,
but Sam goes merily on measuring
calico and selling shoes at the store
of E. Lloyd Thomas. Some folks
think Sain would run as well as he
tells a joke, and if he would theu*
would l>e no heading him.
Monday evening Misses Ora Lee
and Pauline Camp entertained at
their Iwautiful home on Broad
streed for Miss Goldsmith and Miss*
Johns,the guests of Mrs. C. (). Nib
lack. The home was lovely with tlx
decorations of pink and green. The
guests enjoyed progressive conversa
tion,after which Miss Camp favored
them with a number of beautiful
solos. The party was given as a
farewell to Miss Pauline, who left
next day for Wesleyan college.
The Young Matrons Club was
In-autifully entertained Thursday by
Mrs. Mae Pott? on the spacious
porch of her home on Athens street.
The home never was prettier than
on this occasion with lieautiful red
roses in vases and potted plants.
The color scheme red and white,
was carried out in decoration and
refreshments which was a luscious
sandwich course. Punch was served
by little Miss Sarah Lou Furlow
and Miss Hortell Hood who wore
white dresses with red sashes.
