There Is No Question But What Cook Has Found
the North Pole and Peary Has Fell Down
JUST like anyone else will do when they
J have a seat in a cheap CHAIR, or any
thing else that is not based on merit.
We absolutely stand behind everything
we promise at this store, and don’t have to
send back to Etah, or anywhere else that is
such a cold climate; neither would we ask
you to make a trip where it’s too hot, but
would only ask you to take the factories
here in our Southern States, where we haye
investigated, and we know what we say in
reference to furniture that will stand the
test of critic examination, and we want you
to thoroughly examine the other goods and
prices, and if we can’t save you money, we
don’t ask you to trade at all. That’s fair,
isn’t it? “Honest Goods—Small Margins,”
is our motto.

IS REMOVING APPENDIX A CRIME?
One of the 1 e*t known physicians
of Boston, Dr. Charles K. Pago,
startles the public car by an un
expected announcement.
lie says that an operation for ap
pendicitis should be put in the cate
gory of crimes.
As for the widely proclaimed
Innclits which the use of the knife
in such cases is said to produce this
eminent practitioner declares that
upon investigation they fail to ma
terialize and in proof of his own
contention he cites an unabridged
list of fatalities which have been
caused either directly or indirectly
by the keen blade of the surgeon.
Among the recent victims of the
operation he mentions Governor
.Johnson, of Minnesota, and Clyde
[Fitch, the playwright.
We are not prepared to enter the
j merits of this discussion.
But when tho charge is made
| within the ranks of the profession
I that operations for appendicitis
[should lie forbidden by law, what
j are ordinary laymen to think?
Well, some of it wouldn’t do to
print.
Ever since King Edward under
wont an operation of this character
several years ago it has been the
fashion to put the blame for most of
our troubles upon the appendix —
and this little member has been
overworked.
The physieians frankly admit
that they can not tell us what pur
pose it serves, but let us ail a. little
and it comes.
One purpose which it serves un
doubtedly is to help the doctor to
buy an automobile.
But jesting aside, the appendix
must have been intended for some
wise purpose. It belongs to our
make-up. When the Good Lord
included it among our furnishings
He did so for wise reasons.
And when Dr. Page cri< s “halt”
to tliis massacre of the appendix,
we say “Amen!” —Atlanta Geaj
