Asa judge in the discharge of Ins

contact with lawyers, officers of
court aiid jurors I have secured from
them an expression as to my ad
ministration during the four years
I have Keen on the bench, and their
preference as to who shall be the
jjplxt judge, for which I acknowledge
to all mv sincere gratitude. I pub
lish the same now that my friends
and the people throughout the cir
cuit may-know how they feel about
ut. lam too busy and the people
are too busy to he disturbed by a
campaign for this office at this time.
During the next year and when 1
have the time to spare from my
work, I shall in a quiet, orderly,
and fair manner look after my in
terest. C. H. Brand.

that as far as we know and have
heard, he has discharged the duties
of his office fairly, impartially and
with dispatch and to the satisfac

[Brand for re-election to the office of
*iidgc. Having held the office for
one term only and having given sat
isfaction, in our judgement, to the
people of this county, we believe he
is entitled to a second term. He
lias made the people a conscientious,
faithful and impartial judge. Every
litigant in his court has equal
rights; he is fair to all. He dis
poses of the business of the court
and he does it rapidly and without
unnecessary expense to the tax-pay
ers, and yet with due regards to tin*
rights of litigants. He is kind to
the jurors and considerate of their
comfort, and for these reasons we
endorse his candidacy.

My Dear Judge:
1 have just received your card,
was glad to know you were enjoying
your vacation. J am sure you
needed it, for I desire to say that I
don’t believe- there is a judge in
the State that has attended more
strictly to his duties than you have,
and if you continue in tne same
course, which I believe you will, it
will be the pleasure of the people
of the circuit to re-elect you with
out opposition.

(.WINNKTT COUNTY CRAND .IUUY.
This body cordially endorses
Judge C. 11. Brand for reelect ion,
believing as we do that he is enti
tled to a second term which we trust
he may receive without opposi
tion. We take the position for
several reasons. In the first place
his predecessor, Judge Bussell, held
this office for eight years, besides
being Solicitor General eight years
and lie was given a second term in
each case. Judge Brand has given
his entire time to the duties of his
office. He lias kept up with the
business of the courts, lit* disposes
of as much business with the mini
mum amount of expense to the
county as any of his predecessors.
He has at all times been kind and
courteous to grand and traverse ju
rors and often given them more
privileges than heretofore liestowed.
He lias lieen absolutely fair and im
partial in the trial of all cases and in
the exercise of his duty in the im
position of sentences on commuted
persons he lias tempered justice with
mercy, always being conservative.
For these and other reasons we hope
the people will lx* snared the strife
of a useless contest for the judge’s
office at this time, and that Judge
Brand may continue to* hold the
office for another term, which he
fills with satisfaction to the public
and credit to himself.

GWINNETT COUNTY.
We,the officers of Court,* )rdiriary
and attorneys-at-law of Gwinnett
Superior Court, hereby endorse the
candidacy of Judge C. H. Brand for
re-election to the office of judge.
Judge Brand began his public ca
reer as a lawyer in this county, hav
ing studied law with Judge Nathan
L. Hutchins, and having been ad
mitted to the bar in September 1-SX2
under Judge Alexander S. Erwin.
He had a large and important prac
tice, was loyal and faithful to his
clients auccessful as a practitioner.
He was a strong and able Solicitor-
General, fearless in the prosecution
of criminals and with an eye single
to the enforcement and vindication
of the law, and yet fair to all de
fendadts and courteous to their law
yers- He has made an excellent
judge. His ability and capacity to
dispose of the business of the court
is unsurpassed. He is fair and
impartial to all litigants and their
counsel. He has no pets to favor
and no eniinies to punish. Every
litigant and every lawyer gets a
square deal at his hands. The law
is his sob* favorite and an honest
and impartial administration there
of his sole aim. He has given to
our people general satisfaction. He
has shown every courtesy, consist
tent with the discharge of duty, to
grand and traverst* jurors and every
one who has business in his courts
His entire time has been devoted to
the transaction of the business of
the courts of the circuit and in our
judgment he not only deserves hut
is entitled to a second term without
opposition.
