ATLANTA AND
MACON
s
Federal Supervisor to Demon
strate Grain Grading at the South
eastern Fair at Atlanta Oct. 13 to
18 and at the Georgia-Florida Fair
at Valdosta Nov. 3 to 8.
In order that farmers, country
grain dealers, millers, county
agents, and other persons interest
ed may have an opportunity to
familiarize themselves with the
correct methods of grading grain
under federal standards for
•wheat, shelled corn and oats. Mr.
K. It. Seeds, Federal Grain Sup
ervisor, will conduct grain grad
ing demonstrations in connection
with the Combined Agriculturtl
Exhibits of the United States De
partment of Agriculture at the
Southeastern Fair at Atlanta Oct.
13 to IS. and the Georgia-Florida
Fair at Valdosta Nov. 3 to 8. At
this demonstration a fully equip
ped grain inspection office will be
arranged, with exactly the same
equipment and appliances that are
used by the licensed grain inspec
tors in the large markets and offi
ces of Federal Grain Supervision.
Samples of wheat, shelled corn
and oats will be handled in tlie
same way as in actual inspection
to show how the grades are deter
mined. A more limited and less
expensive set of equipment which
has been suggested by the F. S.
Department of Agriculture, as
convenient to apply Federal
grades at country points, will also
be shown.
Til order to make the demon
stration thoroughly practical,
farmers are invited to bring sam
ples of their grain to the demon
stration booth in order that fac
tors that determine the grades
may be indicated on their own
grain.
