BEAUTIFUL FARM
A Farmer Who Makes His Farm
Self-Sustaining and Richer
Every Year.
!t is worth something to all
all classes of pool ! ' and all pro
fessions to tell occasionally the
successes of men in the different
avocations of life.
If it causes one voting man who
is am bilious to improve and better
bis condition, to stop and think, to
investigate the methods which
have brought success to others and
give him the incentive to adopt
these methods and improve on
them, a papeHias done something
to help humanity and enlarge the
vision of others.
Some of our own people do not
know that just on the edge of the
incorporate limits ot Winder, on
the Bankhead highway, is one of
the prettiest and best farms, own
ed and operated by one of tin
most successful farmers in Geor
gia or any where in the South.
This farm has attracted the at
tention of many travelers from
states in different parts of the un
ion.
A business man front Richmond.
Virginia, who had been traveling
the Seaboard road for twenty
years and closely observing the
farms front that city to Atlanta,
brought his wife with hint on one
occasion. She was noticing the
farms aftd commenting on them
when he told her to wait until
reaching Winder and he would
show her the prettiest and best
farm between Richmond ami At
im.u
She .vei-oHly agreed with him
when they rra< tied Mr. A. •). 11 ar
fligree \s.
Mr. Hardigree was reared on
this farm and has neverv lived
any where else.
ile chose agriculture as his pro
fession and resolved 1o make a
success.
The tii*st conclusion readied by
him was to make it a close study,
rotate his crops, make 1 *.is farm
self sustaining, then raise all the
cotton be could, ’dlis next re
solve was to enrich liis land and
have i1 more productive with ev
ery succeeding year, make better
improvnieiils and keep up these
improvements.
My working wage bauds as well
as croppers lie has been enabled
to do this and his farm looks bet
ter every year, the land heroines
more productive and he never
j'aiis to make abundant crops of
corn, oats, wheat, forage and cot
ton.
* yde never has any trouble to se
cure iabtir and his large area of
land is always well prepared in
time for the planting season.
It will interest and instruct any
young maul who has not already
formed fixed habits as to how to
farm successfully and who is op
posed to new innovations, to visit
the beautiful farm of Mir. A. J.
* llardigiee and learn the methods
•by which he has made money and
grown prosperous.
