STRANGE, BUT TRUE.
Why is it the opposition so sel
dom sees the good qualities in a
man who is running for public of
fice.
Why is il that men who all then
lives have been considered upright
and honorable suddenly become
objects of suspicion '!
It is so in every political cam
paign we have.
Once a man is nominated for of
fice his partisans begin to sing his
praises and enlarge upon his capa
bilities. while the opposition vets
out its hammer and begins to
knock, and keeps knocking until
ihe man is fortunate if lie emerges
[front the fray with a shred of char
acter left.
This is a free country in which
every man is presumed to be enti
tled to his convictions, provided
they are in accordance with law
and order and decency.
A man may become a candidate
foi public office and still remain a
man of honor and integrity.
It would he heller all around il
we would consider a few of Ihese
facts before bringing our hammers
into play.

Tie NEW EDISON
“ The Phoncgrath tv.til o Snul
There’s a way of spending money
that spreads incomes over bigger
“sandwiches.”
Big business calls it financing.
Government calls it budget-making.
We call it the Budget Plan.
Would you like to own a New Edison ?
Our Budget Plan will show you how to
“swing” the purchase, without cutting in
on your present necessary expenditures.
Now is a good time to buy. The New
Edison has advanced in price less than 15%
since 1914; this includes War Tax. Mr.
Edison has kept prices down by absorbing
increased costs out of his own pocket.

YN 1876 Mr. R. F. Dewey of Millersburg,

for $lO5. Dividing $lO5 by 38 years it
will be seen that Mr. Dewey’s Studebaker
cost him—to Gate —$2.77 a year.
—and, as the wagon is still giving good service, every
additional year that Mr. Dewey uses his wagon still
further reduces the cost per year.
You can’t beat this fot an investment.
We carry a line of Studebaker wagons just as strongly
made, just as reliable, as the Studebaker wagon Mr.Dewey
bought 36 years ago.
