nent young couples in Oconee
county. They left immediately
after the ceremony for Atlanta, af
ter their bridal trip they will be at
home to their many friends at the
home of the groom near Mai's Hill
church.

Of cordial interest to hosts of
friends here was the wedding of
Miss Mary Cecile Bryan and Mr.
Ilosca Columbus Williams, which
took place at the home of the
bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ar
thur Middleton Bryan in Madison
on Wednesday the 24th of Novem
ber. Mr. Williams is one of our
splendid young men, of sterling
((ualities, and served his country
with distinction during the late
war. He is the third son of Mr.
and Mrs. Pink Williams of our
city. Mr. and Mrs. Williams are in
Florida for a short stay and will
f* e at home to their friends after
December sth. in Winder.
SILVER TEA.
'The members of the Ladies Aid
Society of the Christian church
will give a Silver Tea for the mem
bers of the church on Tuesday af
ternoon from 3 to 5 o’clock, in the
Loyal Guards class room. This
is also the regular time for the
. monthly meeting and some impor
tant business will be attended to
so we especially ask every wom
an of the church to be present.
After the business sesion a so
cial hour will be enjoyed. Re
freshments and a general good
time.

Lanis Ethridge, and Leo Jackson,
of Jefferson, Miss Lanora Hosch,
of Hoschton, and Mr. Myron
Wright of East ville.
PETITION FOE CHARTER
GEORGIA—BARROW COUNTY.
To the Superior Court of said county:
The petition of J. C. Shields, Lester
Harwell, T. K\ Wilbanks, T. N. Suddath
J. C. Payne, Herschel Payne, W. E.
Young, E. H. Shields, R. H. Shields; L.
L. Patrick and W. J. Jones of said
county and State of Georgia, respectful
ly shows:
First. That they desire for themselves,
their associates and successors, to bo
incorporated and made a body politic
un or the name and style of ‘Oak Trove
Gin Company,’ for the period of twen
ty years.
Second. The principal office of said
company shall be in Barrow county,
Georgia, with Post Office address at Win
der, Georgia, but petitioners desire the
right to establish branch offices within
this state whenever the holders of a ma
jority of the stock may so determine.
Third. The object of said corpora
tion is pecuniary gain to itself and its
shareholders.
Fourth. The business to be carried
on by said corporation is that of a cot
ton ginnery, ginning cotton, buying cot
ton and cotton seed, storing and haul
in same, handling cotton seed meal and
hulls, buying and selling the necessary
machinery, housing and land for the said
business.
Fifth. The capital stock of said cor
poration shall be Ten Thousand Dollars
($10,000.00) with the privilege of in
creasing same to $25,000.00 by a major
ity vote of the stockholders said stock
to be divided into shares of One Hun
dred Dollars ($100) each.
ThTrty-five hundred dollars of this cap
ital stock has been actually paid in.
Sixth. Petitioners desire the right to
sue and be sued, to plead and be im
pleaded, to have and to use a common
seal, to make all necessary by-laws and
regulations and to do other things that
may be necessary for the successful car
rying on of said business, to execute
notes and bonds or mortgages as evi
dence of indebtedness incurred, or Which
may be incurred, in the conduct of the
affairs of the corporation and to secure
the same by mortgage, security deed, or
other form of lein, under existing laws.
Seventh. They desire for said corpor
ation the power and authority to apply
for and accept amendments to its char
ter of either form or substance by a
vote of a majority of its stock outstand
ing at the time.
Eighth. They desire for the said cor
poration the right of renewal when and
as provided by the laws of Georgia and
that it have all such other rights, pow
ers, privileges ami immunities as arc in
cident to like incorporations or permis
sible under the laws of Georgia.
Wherefore, petitioners pray to be in
corporated under the name and style
aforesaid .with the powers, privileges
and immunities herein set forth and as
are now or may be hereafter, allowed
a corporation of similar character under
the laws of Georgia.
