Presently dinner was announced, and we were stated at a ta ble fairly groaning with frogs. Progs filed, frogs fricasseed, frog pie, frug stew, live frog, jumping frog, scientific frog, frog on on the half shell, frogs any Way and every way, to suit the most fastideous taste. Our Editor was a little relur.tttht at first, but fortifying himseif behind a CUp of “coffee” he boldly made War Upon the assembled host of frogs and came Very near ex terminating them. That same "coffee' 1 was a great com fort to the rest of us. Tis a delicious misture the compounding of which is asecret known only to oUr hosts. VVe think they could make a fortune rUn* nihg a coffee stand We all tackled the frogs with a right gook will, ahd soon made sad havoc in their ranks. They were simply deli- clua, so tender and juC)r, and so beau tifully coqked. When We had eaten of the frogs, (until we felt like jumping into a tmtdhole With a "quack”) a de licious pudding served with winesauce was set before us to crown the feast. We will long remember it a* one of the best of which we have had the pleas ure of partaking. Ever since that “lit tle dinner” we have all felt as happy and as a "jugerrum” in the •unahihe. Once upon a time Got. Brown wan ted to go somewhere, and that little place was thrown into a atate of Wild confusion. They rushed about promis cuously to find a way ol transporting him from the depot. At last they totind a man that owned a buggy, but no horse. After another dilligent search they discovered a man with a horse, hut no buggy. Their hearts were then made glad for they said within them selves we will hitch this mans horse UJ that mans buggy, and behold we will hae a turnout, and they rejoiced With an exceeding great joy. But they had recoiled within their host, They had furgotteh that they lived In a wicked and perverse generation. For behold i the two men would not allow the com bination of seperate property necessa to constitute a turnout, and there was weeping and gnashing of teeth. Atlaat they had to send to a neighboring city Ito borrow a carriage wherewith, to ' transport the Governor.
