from a visit to her parents in

Ned McCord had a right severe
bilious attack Saturday and Sun
day, but is now improving.
Ernest Haynes returned Satur
day night from a pleasant stay in
Atlanta, with his aunt, Mrs. Pat
terson.
Miss Quinland has returned to
her home in Macon, after visit
ing her aunt, Mrs. I. H. Maddox
for two weeks.
Mr. Will Taylor has accepted
a position as traveling salesman
for a firm in St. Louis. His ter
ritory is South of Atlanta.
Mr. Watson, who was severely
hurt several days ago at Pepper
ton, is improving and his
friends hope to see him out soon.
Willie Lee Nutt spent Sunday
in Griliin.
Sasnett Crum was in Locust
Grove Sunday.

Mrs. Rosa Wright and Maurice
spent the week-end in Tallapoosa
with the families of Messrs Joe
and Jim Thornton.
Mr. J. L. Maddox, a prosperous
farmer of Iron Spring, was in
Jackson Monday assisting his sis
ter, Mrs. Goodson, in packing to
move to Atlanta.
Mrs. Mote Watts came from
Flovilla Thursday. She will re
main in Jackson for three months,
then join her husband at Wrights
ville Beach, N. C. ,
After a week’s visit to Mrs.
L. L. Norsworthy, Miss Dedie
McClure, of Stark, left Sunday
for Jenkinsburg where she will
be the guest of Mrs. J. W. Kim
bell.

people that Helen Carmichael is
able to sit up for 1 a little while
each day, and her mother is
about well again.
Mrs. M. C. McDonald with
Florrie Harp, left Monday for a
weeks visit to Mrs. Charlie Harp
in Atlanta. Florrie will see Ben-
Hur while in the city.
Mrs. T. J. Dempsey’s friends
are sympathizing with her in the
loss of her mother, Mrs. I. B.
Smith, who died at her home in
Atlanta on last Sunday morning.
Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Joiner were
called to College Park Sunday
to the bedside of Mrs. J. M.
Walker, Mrs. Joiner’s mother,
who is very low.
Miss Felicia Morrison speit
Saturday and Sunday at home.
Her school at Union Ridge is
growing every day, and she is
well pleased with her new sur
roundings.

Miss Bessie Thaxton, who has
charge of the Fincherville school
was in Jackson Saturday. She
went to Jenkinsburg Sunday to
attend a dining given by Miss
Eva Ray.
Mrs. George Kinsman left Mon
day for Atlanta, where she will
enter Dr. Nobles Sanitarium for
several weeks treatment. Dur
ing her absence, Mrs. Frank Out
house will keep house for her.
Miss Adel Nutt will leave Sat
urday for Winder, where she will
spend the remainder of the win
ter with her sister, Mrs. Hall
Turner.
Emmett Adams, manager of
the Swift Packing Company,* is
expected in Jackson this week
from Chicago, to visit relatives,
en route to his home in Savannah.
Miss Rosa Newton left Wed
nesday for Atlanta to visit her
aunt, Mrs. A. F. Whitney. From
there she will go to Tallapoosa,
the guest of Miss Madge Thorn
ton.
Mrs. Hattie Smith moved last

the Southern Shorthand and

Mrs. Goodson and children, left
for Atlanta early this week to
make that place their home. She
has lived in Jackson for six years
and has made many warm per
sonal friends, who regret exceed
