Not Wise to
Take Calomel
Dodson’s Liver Tone is just as
sure in results and always safe,
pleasant in taste and has no bad
after-effects. Asa remedy for
a torpid liver calomel has more
than met its match in Dodson’s
Liver Tone. This medicine does
not roughly force the liver on to
perform its work. It acts
gently but surely.
Calomel depends for its power
upon exciting the liver to do
more work, and often the liver is
too weak to stand such treatment
and after taking calomel you are
as a result sometimes worse off
than before.
Dodson’s Liver Tone cannot
cause any of the dangerous ef
fects that often follow the use
of calomel. It is entirely veget
able and pleasant to the taste,
and is suitable for children and
grown people.
Get a large bottle for fifty
cents at Slaton Drug Cos. under
the guarantee that if it doesn’t
satisfy you that it perfectly
takes the place of calomel you
will be given your money back
with a smile right at the store
where you bought Dodson’s med

HON. T. W. HARDWICK
SPEAKS IN JACKSON
It
Addressed Voters Friday
Afternoon of La3l Week
In Interest Candidacy
A crowd estimated at from
two to three hundred persons
heard the address of Congress
man T. W. Hardwick delivered
in Jackson Friday afternoon of
last week. He was introduced
by editor H. M. Shaver of the
Jackson Argus.
Mr. Hardwick made a favor
able impression on his audience.
He told a number of good jokes
that kept the crowd in an atten
tive mood, and it is the consen
sus of opinion that his speech
made him new friends.
The speaker criticised Hon. T.
S. Felder, who he charged lacked
the necessary experience for a
United States senator. He said
his long service in congress fitted
him for the office.
Governor John M. Slaton came
in for a roast at the hands of the
congressman from the tenth. He
criticised the tax equalization
law which he said was due to the
efforts of Governor Slaton. He
did not take up much time with
Rufe Hutchens and John R.
Cooper, his other opponents.
That Mr. Hardwick is a good
stump speaker is.attested by all
who heard his address. His
friends say he has a large follow
ing in Butts and that he must be
reckoned with in the coming
primary.

6EQRGIA PRODUCTS DAY
TO DE ENLARGED IN 1914
Other States Asked to Co
operate With The State
Chamber Commerce
Atlanta, July 21. Announce
ment comes from the headquar
ters of the Georgia Chamber of
Commerce that a movement has
been started by parties at Rich
mond, Virginia, to induce all the
Southern States to celebrate
State Products Day on the same
date that Georgia will hold its
second observance of Georgia
Products Day —Wednesday, Nov
ember 18, 1914.
This movement has been be
gun by John Clifton Elder and
other public spirited men in Rich
mond as a result of the growing
fame of Georgia Products Day,
which is attracting attention all
oyer America, and they are com
municating with commercial or
ganizations in each of the South
ern States and transmitting to
them information obtained from
Georgia Chamber of Commerce
as to the methods by which the
Georgia holiday was established.
Letters to the Georgia Chamber
state that the response is cordial
and enthusiastic and that the
prospects are now that on Nov
ember 18th most, if not all, of
the Southern States will have
public dinners, like those held in
Georgia, each serving only pro
ducts grown or made within the
state, for the purpose of enlight
ening their own people as to the
products and possibilities of their
state and arousing their patriot
ism and loyalty to patronize and
encourage the upbuilding of home
industry.
At the same time, plans are be
ing laid in Virginia to establish a
state-wide chamber of commerce
modeled on the plan on which the
Georgia Chamber of Commerce
was built.
Knowing the added stimulus
to the state pride and loyalty to
Georgia institutions that will be
given by the other Southern
states following the lead of Geor
gia, the officers of the Georgia
Chamber of Commerce are elated
over the prospects for making
the Georgia Products Day cele
bration of 1914 eclipse that held
last year, and state that they
have no doubt that the Directory
of Georgia Manufacturers and
Producers, which the organiza
tion is now compiling as the log
ical and practical means of car
rying out the policy of keeping
Georgia’s money at home, will
meet with a hearty response
from the people of Georgia and
will prove of vast benefit in ac
quainting Georgians with the
products of their state and in
building up the struggling indus
tries of Georgia. Many manu
facturers and producers of agri
cultural products are voluntarily
sending in information as to their
products without waiting to re
ceive a formal letter of invitation
to send information for listing in
the directory.
