MRS. H. G. ASBURY
CALLED TO LAST REST
A host of friends over the
county were saddened to lea n of
the death of Mrs. H. G. Asburv,
which occurred Tuesday morning
at her home near .lenl i ‘ lung.
She had been in feeble health for
several months and her death,
while not entirely unexpected,
was a keen shock to hundreds of
friends. Death was brought
about by a complication of dis
eases.
Mrs. Asbury was (51 years old,
and before her marriage was a
Miss Bankston and a member of
one of the county’s most promi
nent families. She was truly a
good woman, a devoted wife and
loving and indulgent mother,
whose beautiful Christian virtues
will long be remembered in the
community in which she lived
out her years.
Surviving Mrs. Asbury are her
husband, Mr. H. G. Asbury, a
prominent citizen of the county
and former County Commission
er; three daughters, Mrs. J. B.
Childs and Mrs. Harvey Jackson
of Jenkinsburg, Mrs. William
Mitchell of Atlanta; three sons,
Mr. Orville Asbury of New York
city, Messrs. Austin and Am
brsse Asbury of Atlanta; three
brothers, Messrs. J. M. and W.
J. Bankson of Jenkinsburg, Ed
Bankston of Manilla, P. I. and a
sister, Mrs. C. H. Farrar of .len
kinsburg.
The funeral, which was largely
attended by sorrowing friends,
was held at County Line church
Wednesday morning at 10o’clock.
Rev. Mr. Smith conducted the
services.
In their sorrow the family have
the sympathy of their scores of
friends.
