Jenkinsburg School Notes
Our first month of the new
year has given us excellent re
sults. We feel much encouraged
with the work accomplished.
On Friday evening, Jan. 29.
the juniors entertained us with a
spelling bee which was a grand
success socially and financially.
The Juniors certainly did well.
Dewey and Forest Bankston
were the champions. Dewey’s
side was successful, Shirley
Swetnam, one of the Senior
girls, carrying away the large
box of fine candy. Several of the
older folks took part and showed
them how it was done in the
olden days. Mr. T. W. Moore,
Mr. W. J. Bankston, Mrs. J. W.
Harper, Floyd Glass and Gordon
Bankston were among those who
stood longest.
Bernard Harper of the eighth
