That the protit derived from
newspaper advertising in six
years has enabled him to increase
his appropriation for that purpose
from $2,000 annually to SBO,OOO
per annum is the remarkable
statement made by a mail order
seedsman of Atlanta. This man
started right, for with the open
ing of his business he set aside a
certain sum to be expended in
newspaper advertising. That it
pdid him is shown by the way in
which he has increased his ex
penditures along this line. Of
course we aren’t expecting any
firm in Tifton to turn loose SBO,-

THE IDEAL SUBSCRIBER
If all our subscribers would
follow the example of this one
the editor would always be happy
and he would have a clear pass
port to better things. Try it:
“Good morning, sir: Mr. Edi
tor, how are the folks today? I
owe you for next year’s paper,
and I thought I’d come in and
pay. And Jones is goin’ to take
it, and this is his money here, I
shut down lendin’ it to him and
coaxed him to try it a year. And
here is a few little items that
happened last week out our way.
I thought they’d look good in the
paper and I just jotted ’em down.
And here is a basket of apples
my wife picked expressly for you;
and here is a pumpkin from Jen
nie—she thought she must send
something too. You’re getting
out a mighty good paper, as all
our family agree; just keep your
old goose quill a flappin’ and give
them a good one for me. And
now you are chock full of busi
ness and I won’t be takin’ your
time; I’ve things of my own to
attend to —good day, sir, I believe
I will climb.”—Fayette City

and will raise more cattle, hogs
