Deafness Cannot Be Cured
by local applications, as' they cannot
reach the diseased portion of the ear.
There is only one way to cure deafness,
and that is by constitutional remedies.
Deafness is caused by an inflamed condi
tion of the mucous lining of the Eusta
chian Tube. When this tube is inflamed
vou have a rumbling sound or imperfect
hearing, and when it is entirely closed.
Deafness is the result, and unless the in
flammation can be taken out and this
tube restored to its normal condition,
hearing will be destroyed forever; nin#
casc3,out of ten are caused by Catarrh,
which is nothing but an inflamed condi
tion of the mucous surfaces.

LETTERS FROM THE PEOPLE
The mocking bird, the trim
Shakespeare of the South, is pour
ing out his sweet notes on puls
ing waves of melody; the grain
and clover fields are growing
verdant; the dogwood blossoms
are peeping from the bosom of
the woods and here comes the
honeysuckle and hawthorn put
ting forth a fragrance as sweet
as a bunch of red roses dipped in
the morning dew and fanned by
the zephery wings of spring.
Every stream and rivulet that
plows its way through the bosom
of this grand old southland is
singing a song as sweet as that
of our mothers when they lulla
bied us to sleep in our infancy
and we waked in the light of
their smiles. Every rock, moun
tain and hillock is whispering as
soft as the touch of an angel’s
wing in the land of Sharon; the
morning stars shine as bright as
they did when they first sang to
gether and guided the Wise Men
in their course and whispered to
the shepherds by night and told
them there was anew born babe
in the city of Bethlehem. The
sun and moon look down on you
and me with the same luster as

KEEP THE KIDNEYS WELL
Health is Worth Saving and Some
Jackson People Know How
to Save It
Many Jackson people take their lives
in their hands by neglecting the kid
neys when they know these organs
need help. Weak kidneys are respon
sible for a vast amount of suffering
and ill health—the slighest delay is
dangerous. Use Doan’s Kidney Pills
—a remedy that has helped thousands
of kidney sufferers. Here is a Jackson
citizen’s recommendation.
W. T. Burke, Oak Bt., Jackson,
says: “Heavy lifting and straining
caused my kidneys to get out of order.
The kidney secretions sometimes pass
ed too frequently and were scanty.
They also contained sediment. My
back finally commenced to ache and
grow worse until I couldn’t keep going.
I had rheumatic pains all through my
body and I was so sore and lame that
I could hardly get out of bed. I doc
tored and tried all sorts of medicine,
but with no results. I finally used
Doan’s Kidney Pills and they soon put
my kidneys in good condition. The
pains left my hack and the kidney se
cretions passed regularly.”
Price 50c, at all dealers. Don’t sim
ply ask for a kidney remedy—get
Doan’s Kidney Pills—the same that
