cent guests of Mrs. F. S. Ether

Mrs. Mack Goodwin spent Sat
urday and Sunday in Macon with
her sister, Mrs. Elma Glass, who
is quite ill.
Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Adams will
leave Friday for a two weeks vis
it to Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Adams
in Birmingham.
Mrs. Bessie Fletcher and chil
dren, of Atlanta, are visiting Mr.
and Mrs. J. W. Fletcher at their
country home.
Mrs. L. E. Walthall returned
Monday to her home in Atlanta
after a pleasant visit to Mr. and
Mrs. F. L. Walthall.
Mrs. J. W. Crum was called to
Royston, Monday, on account of
the serious illness of her little
grandson, George Mingledorff.
Dr. Robert VanDeventer and
Warren Furlow left Monday for
the Panama Exposition in San
Francisco. Dr. VanDeventer will
also attend the Southern Baptist
convention at Houston, Texas.
Mrs. Vina Braswell attended
the State Teachers’ Association
in Macon last Friday and Satur
day.
Miss Nettie F. Moore will be
home soon from Toomsboro where
she has been teaching the past
year.
Mrs. B. C. Milton, of Locust
Grove, spent the first of the week
with her sister, Mrs. N. R. Mc-
Cord.

to visit Mrs. W. H. McMichael in
Macon.
Mrs. W. M. Crawford and lit

convention in Waycross.
Miss Myrtle Harris will arrive
next week from Cairo, where she
has been teaching. Miss Harris
will teach at Tifton next year.

Carmichael and Mrs. Jack Demp
sey.
Mrs. F. S. Etheridge, Misses
Viola Slaughter, Lucile Elder and
Lurline Lawson will leave early
in June for a visit to the Panama
Exposition.
Mr. J. T. Fletcher spent sever
al days of the week in Atlanta,
where he underwent an opera
tion for the removal of one of his
eyes, which was pierced by a
piece of steel several weeks ago.
His hosts of friends regret his
misfortune.

there. She returns to Jackson

MRS. POWELL HOD6ES
YIELDS TO LON 6 ILLNESS
Mrs. Powell Hodges, about 40
years old, a highly respected and
esteemed woman, died Thursday
night of last week at her home
near Flovilla. The end came af
ter a lingering illness of several
months and was a shock to the
family and friends.
Before her marriage Mrs. Hod
ges was a Miss Moore and besides
her husband is survived by sev
eral children, her mother and a
number of brothers and sisters.

church Saturday morning at 11
o'clock, with interment in the
Macedonia cemetery.
The bereaved family have the
