Official Organ Butts County
And the City of Jackson.
How’s your crop of grass?
Getting any garden truck these
opulent spring days?
Uncle Sam is keeping his pow
der dry and the fuses primed.
Ever have your tummy to make
faces at you on a morning after?
The Macon Telegraph’s editor
ials have the true patriotic ring
to them.
We presume old General Green
will be a hard one to outflank
for the next few days.
1 * . i .
Let no opportunity pass to get
in a word for Butts county’s
claim to the Dixie highway.
Macon had better look to her
laurels, for Jackson is going to
have one good fair this fall.
You want to get in behind the
Butts county fair good and strong
and help to make it a winner.
Three days fair and big trade
week for Butts county this fall.
Spread the news, Mr. Booster.
Macon’s fleet of schooners in
and off the bar ought to keep the
submarines out of the Ocmulgee.
Would the sweet girl graduate
by any other name be as fra
grant? Hey, Fellow Blood worth?
“America f"r Americans” is
no bad slogan. It may become
famous during the next few
months.
Crisp, concise and straight to
the point. President Wilson mes
sage to Germany hit the nail on
the head.
Every time the Griffin team
wins a game we hear a mighty
rumbling over in the “Turkish
towel” town.
We think you are right. Wood
row, but right or wrong we are
&H with you to the rearest private
in the hindest rank.
Best roads, shortest route and
historic attractions —these are the
inducements Butts county offers
for the Dixie highway.
We're so all-fired pro-American
that we are trying to purge our
system of the smatteriug of
“deutsche” we absorbed a few
years back. Next time we study
in anybody’s little old university
we’ll take Uncle Sam’s English.
Notice.
Our fiscal year closes this
month. We want to collect our
mill accounts and get notes for
Fertilizer accounts.
If you owe us for any pro
ducts I will appreciate it if you
will call and settle at once, and
those who have gotten all their
fertilizers, we will appreciate it
if you will come by and give us
notes.
No produces will be charg
ed to any one.

Butts county put the convicts
to work on the public roads Jan
uary 1. 1911. It is nothing short
of marvelous what results have
been accomplished since then in
good road building. Today the
roads in Butts county are far
better than any of the surround
ing counties. And the end is not
yet in sight.
Get behind the Dixie highway
and help pull it through the best
county with the best roads in the
state.—Butts County Progress.
Wesincerely thank Editor Jones
for coming to Spalding’s aid for it
could not be that he considers
“Butts the best county with the
best roads.”—Griffin News.
Be net deceived, dear heart.
Butts not only has Spalding bes
ted in the matter of good roads
but offers the shortest and most
direct route for the Dixie high
way. It may be that the scales
will fall from Griffin’s eyes be
fore this thing is done with.
Just to think of the joke of
Macon and Savannah complaining
of being dry even in a drouth. —
Butts County Progress.
There is no such an animal or
you “never bin thar.”—Pike
County Journal.
