The most enjoyable event of the
past week was the lawn party giv
en by .Miss Grace Thurston Tues
day evening, in honor of her at
tractive guests, Misses I.ucile
Crews and Mary Barnette, of At
lanta. The porch and lawn were
prettily decorated with sun flowers
and ferns, and delicately lighted
with Japanese lanterns. Little
Misses Margarett McKibben and
Thelma Maddox served punch
during the evening. Miss Thurs
ton was assisted in entertaining by
Misses Bessie and Maggie Bell
Tliaxton and Mrs. J. B. Guthrie.
After many delightful games, an
ice cream course was served.
About twenty guests enjoyed Miss
Thurston’s hospitality.

has returned to her home after a visit

Mr. Gus Haley of Clearwater, Fla.,
spent Sunday with his auut, Mrs. Geo.
Cornell.
Mr. G. W. Riley of Macon spent Sun
day at the Calumet.
Mr. Wright Watkins entertained
Tuesday evening at a booking parly in
honor of Miss Julia Collins of St. Louis,
and Miss Snead of Newnan.
Misses Watkins gave a picnic Wed
nesday at the dam. The crowd went
out in wagons, and spent a delightful
day.
Mr. Frank Smith had as his guests
Tuesday evening at the Foy Hotel, an
elaborate six o’clock dinner. Those
present were Misses Louise Smith,
Collier Snead, Mbssrs. Watkins, Cleve
land and Smith.

are expecting their daughter from Au
gusta to visit them during camp meet
ing.
