Miss Thelma Wood Entertains
A congenial dinner party was
delightfully entertained at the
Wigwam at Indian Springs, Sat
urday evening, Miss Thelma
Wood being the gracious hostess.
Her guests included Miss Naidine
Leach and her guest, Miss Appia
Jackson, of Brunswick, Miss Lu
rline Lawson, of Flovilla, Mr. Sla
ton Carmichael, Mr. Victor Car
michael, and Mr. Hardaway, of
Newnan.
Mrs. Nutt Hostess to
Mothers Club
A pretty affair of the week was
on Thursday afternoon when
Mrs. W. L. Nutt entertained the
members of the Young Mothers
Club with a porch party at her
home on Covington street. Grow
ing plants and large vases of
black eyed Susans made the spa
cious porch unusually inviting
and attractive. A delightfully
refreshing salad course with iced
tea was served.
Birthday Party
Mrs. Paul Nolen complimented
her little daughter, Margaret,
with a pretty lawn party, Mon
day afternoon, the affair celebra
ting the fifth birthday of the
charming young honoree. Thirty
small tots were delightfully en
tertained, playing childish games
around the attractive birthday
cake topped with its five little
candles. Cream, cake and animal
crackers were enjoyed and the
fortunate honor guest was show
ered with a collection of pretty
gifts.

The marriage of Miss Inez Coo
ley and Mr. A. J. Biles, which
took place at the home of the
bride’s brother and sister, Mr.
and Mrs. Z. J. Edmundson, near
Eatonton, Saturday afternoon at
six o’clock, was an event of more
than cordial interest to the friends
of the popular young couple here.
No cards having been issued only
the families and most intimate
friends of the bride and groom
witnessed the ceremony.

oleanders and sweet peas were
used throughout the home and in
the drawing room where the im
pressive ceremony was read by
Rev. Mr. Pressley, pastor of the
Presbyterian church of Louisville,
Ga. A pyramid of ferns and ole
anders. arched with pedestals
holding large candlesticks with
burning tapers, formed the pret
ty altar about which grouped the
bridal party.
The attractive bride was unus
ually charming in her wedding
gown of white chiffon and lace
over taffeta. She carried a show-
er bouquet of roses and valley
lilies and her veil was caught
with a wreath of the valley lilies.
She was attended by her sister,
Mrs. Z. J.Edmundson, as matron
of honor, wearing white chiffon
and carrying pink carnations. The
pretty little flower girl and ring
bearer. Miss Emily Champion,
wore a dainty frock of white or
gandie and lace with pink ribbons
and carried a basket of pink
sweet peas in which was conceal
ed the wedding ring.
Mr. Biles entered with Mr. T.
A. Nutt who acted as best man.
Mendelssohn’s wedding march
was played by Mrs. Frederick
Griffith, who wore a handsome
gown of pink organdie and lace,
with a corsage bouquet of sweet
peas. During the ceremony she
played softly and sweetly from
“The Tales of Hoffman.”
After congratulations, the
guests were entertained at an in
formal reception by Mr. and Mrs.
Edmundson, the pretty color ef
fect of pink and white being car
ried out in the dining room where
cream, in the shape of wedding
slippers, and angel food cakes
were served. A huge basket of
sweet peas, the tall handle tied
with tulle, formed the attractive
centerpiece for the beautifully
appointed table, crystal candle
sticks holding pink tapers and
crystal dishes of pink and white
mints completing the charming
effect.
Mr. and Mrs. Biles left at sev
en o’clock for their wedding trip,
the bride wearing a becoming
traveling suit of dark blue silk
with hat and slippers to match.
After June twelfth they will be
at home to their friends at Syca
more.
