OAK HILL SCHOOL
PLANS REUNION
WILL BE AUGUST FOURTH
Committees Working out
Splendid Program
Friday, August 4, is the date
set for the reunion and home
coming at Oak Hill school, the
committee which met in Jackson
Saturday having agreed upon that
time. Active preparations are
going toward to make this a red
letter day in the history of the
school, and the occasion promises
to be one of the most notable ever
seen in that community.
The reunion and home-coming
is planned to bring together all
the former teachers, pupils and
patrons of the school, from the
time the school was established,
dating from about 1870, until the
present day. Various forms of
amusement are being planned.
The old games will be played
again, bull pen, paddle ball, leap
frog, etc . and each pupil of the
school will be asked to recite the
old "speeches" they used to say.
The entire day will be spent in
reciting reminiscences, living
over the old scenes, and talks will
be made by several of those pres
ent.
Those who attend are requested
to take well prepared basket. It
is hoped to have present all the
old pupils, scattered over several
states. Nothing will be spared
to make the day notable and me
morable in the annals of Oak Hill
school.

NOT ENOUGH CHILDREN
ever receive the proper balance of food
to sufficiently nourish both body hint
brain during the growing period when
nature’s demands are greater than in
mature life. This is shown in so many
pale faces, lean bodies, frequent colds,
and lack of ambition.
For all such children we say with
unmistakable earnestness: They need
Scott’s Emulsion, and need it now. It
possesses in concentrated form the very
food elements to enrich their blood. It
changes weakness to strength; it makes
them sturdy and strong. No alcohol.

BARS BEING PUT
HIGHER ON ENTRANCE
TO COLLEGE.
An organized movement of col
leges of Georgia is under way by
which the standard of admission to
the higher institutions is to be rais
ed. In this movement all of the prin
cipal colleges are joined. Two rea
sons are assigned, one being that
students go to college without neces
sary preparation and are under a
great handicap in doing college work.
The other reason is that the high
schools are entitled to retain young
men and women until they have com
pleted high school work. The ten
dency of the movement, it is claimed,
will be to make both the high schools
and colleges more efficient. Those
who go to college unprepared drop
out discouraged and serious harm is
often done the individual. The stand
ardizing of high school, junior col
lege and senior college work in Geor
gia is in keeping with the most ad
vanced steps in the educational world.

Calomel is Quicksilver and

Your Liver.
Calomel loses you a day! You
know what calomel is. It’s mer

like dynamite, cramping and sick
ening you. Calomel attacks the
bones and should never be put
into your system, .
When you feel bilious, sluggish,
constipated and all knocked out
and believe you need a dose of
dangerous calomel just remember
that your druggist sells for 50
cents a large bottle of Dodson s
Liver Tone, which is entirely veg
etable and pleasant to take and
is a perfect substitute for calo
mel. It is guaranteed to start
your liver without stirring you up
inside, and cannot salivate.
Don’t take calomel! It makes
you sick the next day; it loses
you a day’s work. Dodson’s Liv

and you feel great. Give it to
the children because it is perfect

TEACHERS CERTIFICATES
IN GEORGIA.
About 5,000 white teachers in Geor
gia hold first grade teachers certi
ficates, about 2,000 second grade
certificates and about 1,000 third grade
certificates. Those who advance
from the lower to the higher grades
and thereby command larger salaries,
find the summer school their best
means. In fact the summer schools
of the country have become practical
ly the one means which teachers are
able to utilize for their advancement.
Each year sees the. number of teach
ers enrolled in summer schools in
creased.
