It is the legal duty of every head
of a family in the county to report
at once to Dr. A. M. Soule, Federal

amount of flour he has on hand or in
his possession above a supply of 30

GOOD BLOOD
Positive—Convincing Proof
Many so-called remedies for anae
mia are only so in name. Their mak
ers are afraid to prove their claims by
telling what their medicines contain.
The only way to be honest with the
people is to let them know what they
are paying for. Here is the Vinol
formula. When the doctor knows
what a medicine contains, it ceases
to be a “patent” medicine.
T> Cod Liver an 4 Beef Peptones, Iron and
x r I'Aanganeee Peptenates, Iron and Am
menium Citrate, Lime aod Soda Glycero
phosphates, Caacarin.
Any doctor will tell you that the in
gredients of Vinol, as named above,
will enrich the blood and banish anae
mia and create strength. When the
blood is pure and rich and red, the
body is strong and robust.
You can prove this at our expense
because your money will be returned
if Vir ol does not improve your health.

Take a dose of nasty calomel today
and you will feel weak, sick and
nauseated tomorrow. Don’t lose a
day’s work. Take a spoonful of
Dodson’s Liver Tone instead and
you will wake up feeling great. No
more biliousness, constipation, slug
gishness, headache, coated tongue or
sour stomach. Your druggist says if
you don’t find Dodson’s Liver Tone
acts better than horrible calomel
your money is waiting for you.
White and black must make this
report or they will be subject to a
fine by the U. S. judge. I have the
authority to extend this time to make
this report, and I have extended the
time until the Ist of May. You need
not send me a copy of your report.
Just send to Dr. Soule, Atlanta, Ga.
Get your merchants to help you. I
will do the same.
Don’t get scared or worried, for
the government only wants to know
how much flour there is in the state,
so the mills can furnish more flour to
the government to be exported, as
com or meal cannot be exported.
There will be no cards issued and no
merchant can sell over 6 pounds to
each person for the next 30 days.
This rule I anticipate will soon be
lifted and no one will be hurt who
has flour, unless they attempt to
hoard it or keep it for speculation.
We must make this sacrifice for
the soldiers for this is the only bread
they can get. Make your report and
if anything should happen whereby
your possession of flour should be in
vestigated, your report would protect
you as a defense.
This is no more than a survey of
the states to get the amount of flour
on hand, the same as the government
gets the ginners report from each
county. All of you can depend upon
vihat I say, for there wont be a hun
gry child or person in the county, if
there is any flour here while I am
food administrator. This notice will
be published two weeks in the paper
and within that time let every person
report who has an excess above the
amount fixed by the government.
The food administrator has your
name and when they check up Butts
county, they can tell exactly who has
reported. If you have wheat on hand
give the numbe of bushels, the num
ber of pounds of flour and the num
ber you have to feed. Of course you
can allow for servants and just a lit
tle for the preachers and a few pub
lic dinners. I will be glad to help any
of you at any time I am in Jackson.
Yours truly,
J. THREATT MOORE.

BUY YOUR COAL NOW
The people of this country have
been repeatedly warned to buy their
coal early. There are several reasons
why this should be done, and not a
singl reason for delaying the purchase
of next winter’s coal supply.
Railroad lines the country over
are congested. They have more traf
fic than they can handle. Business
will increase during the fall months,
and the railroads can better handle
shipments of coal now than at any
other season of the year.
The government is using enormous
quantities of coal in the manufacture
of mifnitiona, shipping and other
lines. First of all, of course, the gov
ernment’s business must be kept run
ning at full steam.
It is a patriotic thing to do, and it
is the part of wisdom and common
sense and safety, to buy your coal
now. See your dealer and place your
order.
Along this line the State Fuel Ad
ministrator says::
At the final conference of the State
Fuel Administrators from all states
east of the Mississippi held in Wash
ington April 10-11, the following res
olutions were unanimously adopted
and presented to United States Fuel
Administrator, Harry A. Garfield:
Resolved: (1) That due to the pres
ent over-burdened condition of our
railroads unless effective measures
of relief are at once taken, the supply
of coal for the Coal Year beginning
April 1, 1918, vuill fall seriously short
of the needs of the country.
(2) That in the crises confront
ing the world the fuel needed for the
vigorous and unimpeded prosecution
of the war must at all costs be provid
ed to run at maximum capacity the
great war machine America is now
fast building.
Therefore, Be it Resolved: That
we call upon all individuals, industries
and communities unselfishly to en
dorse and support such act of the
government as may be needed to clear
the railway tracks of the United Sta
tes of any unimportant or unneces
sary traffic congesting our railways
and interfering with the prosecution
of the war.
MOTHER! GIVE CHILD
“SYRUP OF FIGS” IF
TONGUE IS COATED
If Cross, Feverish, Sick, Bil

and Bowels
Children love this “fruit laxa
tive,” and nothing else cleanses the
tender stomach, liver and bowels so
nicely.
A child simply will not stop play
ing to empty the bowels, and the re
sult is, they become tightly clogged
with waste, liver gets sluggish,
stomach sours, then your little one
don’t eat, sleep or act naturally,
breath is bad, system full of cold,
has sore throat, stomach-ache or
diarrhoea. Listen, Mother! See if
tongue is coated, then give a tea
spoonful of “California Syrup of
Figs,” and in a few hours all the
constipated waste, sour bile and un
digested food passes out of the sys
tem, and you have a well, playful
child again.
Millions of mothers give “Cali
perfectly harmless, children love
fornia Syrup of Figs” because it is
it, and it never fails to act on the
stomach, liver and bowels.
Ask your druggist for a
bottle of “California Syrup eff
Figs,” which has full directions for
babies, children of all ages and for
grown-ups plainly printed on the
bottle. Beware of counterfeits sold
here. Get the genuine, made by
“California Fig Syrup Company.”
