The Final Proof of Quality
In these days a man must exercise intelligent judgment in the administration
of his personal affairs. When he buys shoes, he must buy good shoes
—for the very simple reason that poor shoes are frightfully extravagant.
When he buys a motor car, he must buy a good car —for the same reason.
If you care to make a little investigation of the used car markets,, you will dis
cover the final proof of Paige quality. For it is a matter of record in
fifteen of the principal cities that Paige used cars bring a higher price—
proportionate to first cost —than any other American automobiles.

SCHOOL CENSUS
WILL BE TAKEN
At the monthly meeting of the
Board of Education Tuesday plans
were made for taking the school cen
sus of Butts county.
A census of the school population
is taken every five years, and on these
figures the state appropriation is
based. It is very important, therefore,
that all children in the county between
the ages of six and eighteen, be enu
merated. If any names are omitted
the county will suffer to tht extent
in the amount of money received
from the state for the support and
maintenance of he public schools.
The census will be taken at once,
to be finished by the first of June, if
possible. Mr. W. F. Huddleston was
appointed chairman of the school
census, and he will have active super
vision of the enumeration.
The following gentlemen have been
appointed to take the census in their
respective districts:
L. L. Tison—Jackson.
R. E. Lavender —Iron Springs.
R. H. Maddox —Worthville.
T. H. Benton —Buttrill.
J. N. McElhenney—Towaliga.
George Brooks—Coody.
W. W. Preston —Indian Springs.
B. C. Ward—Dublin.

DUMMY ID BEGIN OPERATION
ABOUT TWENTIETH OF MAY
Captain R. V. Smith was in the
city Wednesday and announced that
he planned to begin operation of the
dummy about the 20th of May.
Considerable repairs and improve
ments have been made to the rolling
stock and property of the railroad
and Mr. Smith expects a good season.
He states that it is hard to get the
labor necessary to run the dummy,
but in spite of that handicap the Flo
villa and Indian Springs Railway will
again serve the public this season, as
in years past.
“Over the top!”

MR. J. M. GASTON IS
MENTIONED FOR LEGISLATURE
The name of Mr. J. M. Gaston has
been mentioned by his friends as a
caindidate for representative 'from
Butts county. It is not known wahat
his attitude is toward the matter,
though in the event he should run he
would have unusually srong support.
Mr. Gaston is one of the county’s best
known citizens. For a long number
of years he has been closely and inti
mately connected with the agricul
tural interests of the county and is
regarded as authority on crop condi
tions, and is a staunch advocate of all
that pertains to the improvement of
the agricultural classes. In the legis
lature he could be depended upon to
protect the interests of the farming
element.
Mr. Gaston is the type of business
man and farmer who would make the
county a splendid representative.
