Jtfiss Betty Marlene Barrett, of
®anta, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Robert S. Barrett Sr., was married to
I*t. Alton Hugh Coleman, son of Mrs.
Alton Coleman of Jackson, and the
late Mr. Coleman, June 17th, at the
Chapel at Fort McPherson. The Rev.
JT Wayne Brookshear officiated.
Miss Barbara Daniel was maid of
honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Marion
Fortner, Mrs. Claude Kilgore, Mrs.
Day Crawford and Mrs. Donjett Yar
brough, of Montgomery, Ala. Kay
Reid was a junior bridesmaid.
Lt. Coleman’s brother, Alfred, was
his best man. His former classmates
at the U. S. Military Academy, 1 Lt.
William Burrus of Engelhard, N. C.;
lit. Norman Blahuta of Coleman,
Texas; Lt. Norman Smith of Utica,
N. Y. ; and Lt. Billy Arthur of Aber
deen, Miss., were his groomsmen.
Charles Williams, organist at the
Inman Park Baptist Church, render
ed nuptial music and accompanied
the vocalist, Jim Yarbrough, Mont
gomery, Ala., as he sang “Because,”
“Oh, Promise Me” and “The Lord’s
Prayer.”
The bride wore a gown of tulle and
Chantilly lace over satin. Her veil of
illusion was attached to a coronet* of
Negro 4-H Boys

5-9 at the Negro 4-H Club center in
Dublin.

tenance; and William Stubbs, public
speaking.
A District 4-H Club Council will
be organized at this year’s meeting.
The Butts county council has named
Paul Mays and Shelby Taylor as del
egates to the district meeting.
The total group from Butts coun
ty attending the district meeting will
include 30 4-H Club members and
Agent C. A. Ogletree, Mrs. Georgia
Curry and Miss E. George, local
adult leaders.

rings at the Middle Georgia Livestock
Sale Cos. June 22nd.
No. 1 hogs topped at $21.25 per

$19.60 per cwt.; milch cows to sllO
per head.

After a wedding trip to Florida
the couple will reside at Fort Benn
ing where Lt. Coleman will be sta
