PEANUT SHAPED EGG
DISPLAYED TUESDAY
Mrs. Roy Moon of Flovilla
sent a chicken egg in the
shape of a large peanut by
the office of the Progress-
Argus on Tuesday. The egg
was laid last Thursday by a
Red Dominecker.
Mrs. Moon has a flock of
chickens, about 38, which are
fed laying pellets and this is
the first time she has found
an egg in the form of a peanut
during her five or more years
experience with chickens.

For Sewerage
System Improvements
Sealed bids for construction of Sewerage System
Improvements for the City of Jackson, Georgia, will be
received by the Mayor and City Council at the office
of the City Clerk until 2:00 o’clock P. M. local time,
May 16, 1974 and then at said office publicly opened
and read aloud.
Separate bids for construction of Division I- Treat
ment Plants and Division II - Sewer Lines may be sub
mitted.
The general scope of work in Division I is construc
tion of two extended aeration type waste water treat
ment plants. The Southside Plant is of 0.35 MGD capa
city and the Northeast Plant is of 0.14 MGD capacity.
The general scope of work in Division II is construction
of approximately 35,000 feet of 12 inch thru 15 inch
sewers, 13,000 feet of 8 inch to 12 inch sewers, complete
with appurtenances.
The project is to be financed in part by the Envi
ronmental Protection Agency. Bidders must comply
with the President’s Executive Orders Nos. 11246 and
11375 which prohibit discrimination in employment
regarding race, creed, color, sex, or national origin. Bid
ders must also comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights
Act of 1964, the Davis-Bacon Act, the Anti-Kickback
Act and the Contract Work Hours Standards Act. Bid
ders must further certify that they do not, and will not
maintain or provide for their employees any facilities
that are segregated on a basis of race, color, creed, or
national origin. *
