Maralyn Louise Ridgeway To Wed
Curtis Wade Probst In August
Mr. and Mrs. David P.
Ridgeway, Sr. of Jackson,
Georgia announce the en
gagement and forthcoming
marriage of their daughter,
Maralyn Louise, to Mr.
Curtis Wade Probst. Curtis is
the son of Mrs. Kurt Probst
and the late Mr. Probst of
Lincolnton, Georgia.
Miss Ridgeway is a 1972
graduate of Jackson High
School and a 1976 graduate of
Abraham Baldwin Agricul
tural College with an
Associate of Science Degree
in Animal Health Techno
logy. She is currently
JHS Class Of 1915 Continues
Reunions Annually In June
The class of 1915 of the
Jackson High School met at
Tomlin’s Restaurant June
9th for their regular annual
reunion. Six class members,
Mrs. Bertha Perdue, Mrs.
Rosa Minter, Mrs. Annie
Ried Gaston, Mrs. Gladys
Wilson, Miss Leila Sams, and
J. Avon Gaston attended.
Mrs. Estelle Ham was a
guest.
The reunions are now just a
social affair but in the past
the class furnished scholar
ship loans and donated SSOO
to furnish a hospital room.
Out of a class of twenty
five members graduating
sixty-one years ago, there
have been ten deaths, two,
Mrs. Evelyn Wright Dickin
son and Miss Lucy Lemon,
dying during the past year.
The J. O. Kings Will Be Honored
On Golden Wedding Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. J. Oliver
King of 8 Mill Street will
observe their fiftieth wed
ding anniversary on Sunday,
June 27th.
In celebration of this
memorable occasion, the
Kings will be honored with a
tea tendered by their
daughters, Mrs. Hilda James
and Mrs. Betty Faye Singley,
at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
King.
Friends are invited to call
between the hours of two and
five o’clock.

MASTER CARPENTER
Mr. and Mrs. John F.
Carpenter of Jacksonville,
Fla. announce the birth of a
son, Neal Ward, June 10th at
Griffin-Spalding County Hos
pital. Mrs. Carpenter is the
former Gail Gordon of
Jackson. Grandparents are
Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Gordon of
Jackson and Mrs. Louise
Carpenter of Port St. Joe,
Fla.
employed by the University
of Georgia School of Veteri
nary Medicine where she is
in charge of the Intensive
Care Unit.
Mr. Probst is a 1972
graduate of Lincoln County
High School. He is currently
enrolled as a junior in the
University of Georgia School
of Veterinary Medicine.
The wedding will take
place Sunday, August 29 at
three o’clock at the Towaliga
Baptist Church in Jackson.
No invitations are being sent.
All friends and relatives are
cordially invited to attend.
The luncheon was served
by Tomlin’s Restaurant and
the members were pleased to
see a sign out front reading
“Welcome Class of 1915”.
The fellowship period last
ed several hours and you can
guess what the topic of
conversation was remin
scences. Mrs. Gaston
brought old photographs and
newspaper clippings.
Officers elected to serve
the coming year are Avon
Gaston, president; Rosa
Minter, vice president;
Gladys Wilson, secretary
treasurer; Bertha Perdue,
corresponding secretary.
The class agreed to meet
again next year, second
Wednesday in June, at
Tomlin’s Restaurant.

celebrated their second
birthday at the Nail home on
Saturday, June 19. Paula was
two on June 20 and Rissi will
be two on June 28.
After the girls opened their
presents everyone enjoyed
the circus animal birthday
cake, baked by Miss Julia
Ann Ridgeway, and home
made ice cream.
