dated March 21, 1972, which
said deed is rcorded in Deed
Book 47 pages 76 through 78
in the Office of the Clerk of
the Superior Court of Butts
County, Georgia, there will 1
be sold at public auction to
the highest and best bidder
for cash at the Courthouse
door of Butts County,
Georgia, by the undersigned,
acting as attorney in fact for
the said William Samuel
Kubricht, Jr., between the
hours of 10:00 A.M. and 4:00
P.M. on the first Tuesday
inoctober, 1976, to wit
October 5,1976, the following
described land, to wit:
All that tract or parcel of
land lying and being in the
610th Dist., G. M., Butts
County, Georgia containing
1 wenty five (25) acres, more
or less, being improved with
a seven room house, and
being bounded as follows:
North by T. W. Futral, east
by Walter F. Graefe; south
by Etheridge Smith Cos., and
west by J. R. Hatcher
homeplace. Said description
is as of now or formerly. This
is the same property as that
described in the deed of
September 1, 1945 from Mrs.
D. W. Folds, as Administra
trix of the Estate of J. F.
Cochran as grantor to Dewey
W. Cochran, as grantee, as
the second described tract in
said deed, said deed being
recorded in the Office of the
Clerk of the Superior Court of
Butts County, Georgia in
Deed Book 14, Page 392. This
is also the same property as
that described in that certain
warranty deed of December
22, 1964 from Dewey W.
Cochran to Edd Thaxton and
recorded in the Office of the
Clerk of the Superior Court of
Butts County, Georgia in
Deed Book 31, Page 469.
Said powers will be
exercised and said land will
be sold as the property of
William Samuel Kubricht,
Jr. by the undersigned as
attorney in fact for the
purpose of paying the
indebtedness secured by
said deed, to wit, the
principal sum of Ten Thou
sand Dollars, besides
interest thereon since March
21,1973 at the rate of eight (8
percent) per centrum per
annum, said indebtedness
having become due on March
21,1976, and no part thereof
having been paid. Proper
conveyance will be made to
the purchaser by the under
signed as attorney-in-fact of
said William Samuel
Kubricht, Jr..
Said property will be sold
subject to all unpaid taxes
that may be a lien on the said
property, and right is
reserved to offer same for
sale from day to day until
acceptable bid is obtained.

Specifications ($4.00), the

correct amount must be
made within 30 days of
billing; such payments are
not refundable. Notices to
Contractors which include
items and quantities are
available upon payment of
$12.00 annually.
Proposals must be submit
ted on the proposal form
issued by the Department.
Each proposal submitted
must be accompanied by a
proposal guaranty in the
indicated amount in the form
of a Certified Check, Cash
ier’s Check or Bid Bond on
the form issued by the
Department or the Georgia
Highway Authority.
In accordance with the
Standard Specifications, the
time set for receiving bid
proposals terminates at 11:00
A M. at Room 234 in the State
Highway Building. The bid
proposals will then be
transferred to Room 401
where they will be publicly
opened. Bid proposals will
not be received after 11:00
A.M. Bid proposals may be
withdrawn by the bidder
from Room 234 prior to 11:00
A.M. but cannot be with
drawn after 11:00 A.M. A
withdrawn bid proposal may
again be received in Room
234 prior to 11:00 A.M.
Acceptance of an offer
submitted by the bid pro
posals will be given in
writing within thirty days
after the opening of the bid
unless a longer period is
specified in the proposal or
agreed upon by the success
ful bidder. Offers of bidders
who do not hold a current
Certificate of Qualification,
will not be accepted unless
prequalification require
ments are specifically
waived for the project.
Work will be governed by
the applicable edition of the
DOT Standard Specifications
as amended by the contract
provisions. Contract time
will be as indicated. Pay
ment will be made to the
contractor each calendar
month based on the estimat
ed work complete in place as
prescribed by the Standard
Specifications. Retainage as
prescribed by the Standard
Specifications will be with
held. Retainage may be
deposited in escrow accounts
at the option of the
Contractor. Final payment of
amounts withheld or deposit
ed in escrow will not be made
until the State Highway
Engineer has certified that
the work has been satis
factorily completed and
accepted.
Projects financed with
Federal funds will contain
provisions with regard to
equal employment opportun-
ities, minimum wages, em
ployment of labor, methods
of construction, minority
business enterprise involve
ment, and subletting or
assigning the contract. On
such projects the Depart
ment will insure that
minority business enterprise
contractors will be afforded
full opportunity to submit
bids in response to this
invitation and will not be
discriminated against on the
grounds of race, color, or
national origin in considera
tion for an award. On such
projects all bidders must
certify and document that
potential minority business
enterprise subcontractors
have been contacted and that
their interest, capabilities,
and prices have been
affirmatively solicited.
Any federally financed
work located within the
counties of Fulton, DeKalb,
Cobb, Clayton and Gwinnett,
the estimated cost of which
exceeds $500,000.00 will be
subject to the requirements
of the Atlanta Plan. Require
ments of the Atlanta Plan
will be included in the
contract special provisions
where applicable. Copies of
the Atlanta Plan are avail
able from the same source as
plans and proposals.
This advertisement is
merely an invitation for the
submission of bids which are
to be considered as offers for
performance of work by the
submitting party. The State
reserves the right to reject
any or all bids.
The Department reserves
the right to release Bidders
Lists on any projects it may
select or on all projects. Such
Bidders Lists will contain the
names of all contractors who
have been issued bid pro
posals valid for bidding.

Revival Ends
Friday At

Revival services at the
Second Baptist Church,
which began on Sunday, are
continuing through Friday,
September 17th. Services
begin at 7:30 each evening.
Evangelist Bennie Rhodes,

series of inspirational mes
sages. Rev. Rhodes has

the Highland and Southside
Baptist Churches in Griffin.

services and a nursery is
