FISHING PROSPECTS
IMPROVE SLIGHTLY
According to Ben Gunn,
fishing prognosticator for the
Department of Natural Re
sources, Butts County’s
public lakes will yield only
slightly better results for the
coming week.
For the week of February
20-26, Gunn says High Falls
will be normal and clear,
with fishing slow for all
species and that Jackson
Lake will be down and clear
with fishing poor for most
species, despite reports of
some bass being taken lately.

6 recently participated in a
Social Science Fair held at
Henderson Elementary
School with Miss Mary Gantt
as chairman.
Trophies were awarded to
the best projects and anyone
\yho entered a project
received a certificate.
Money donated by the Van
Deventer Memorial Scout
Foundation went toward the
purchase of the prizes for the
Fair.
Judges for the contest were
from the Griffin Cooperative
Educational Service Agency
(CESA). They were Dr.
Harold Daniel, Lee Roy
O’Neal and Judy Mayfield.
Sixth graders whose
projects were judged as first
place winners competed in
the regional Social Science
Fair in Clayton Junior
College February 19.
The winners in the district
fair were Tina Greenwood
first place in political
science ; Mary Lynn Palmer
and Judy Waits-second
place in sociology; Sheila
Grier and Darlene Mc-
